The futures ??????????????????????? The joys of being a Gashead. F6ck me if reality hadn't hit some of the folki around the club it has now. Big Fish in little pond syndrome. Sorry but Rovers are fast becoming a bit of the sicker than sick man of Bristol. Where the f4ck is the fight and ambition that was for many years inherent within the Club ?
It seems strange that people like Brown, McChrystal etc aren't getting a run out. They're the ones who need to be really match fit. It's a weird pre season, that's for sure.
Were you there, and were there any crumbs of comfort or glimmers of hope? Goals are obviously still a problem...
3 friendly games in and we have scored just 1 goal. now remind me, what was our issue last season?????????? and that 1 goal was from a trialist who buggered off as got a better offer from a football league club. i know the 1st game was just trialists and a handful of 1st year pro's, 2nd game was closer to our 1st team and todays game was trialists, 2nd year scholars, 1st year pro's and the odd player who will be involved in 1st team duties.............. so we aint fielding a regular line up which is not ideal in preparations and its all about match fitness and clarkes assessing both the trialists and 1st year pro's but these 3 results aint giving any gashead confidence going into the season but instead giving us a lot of concerns. this rate i can see another relegation fight! we have a small squad, struggling to sign players, i worry we have too much youth and not enough experience.
Yep. We're going to struggle unless he's keeping his plans under wraps. What has happened to our football club?
Here is the tweets on the game...... * The teams are out. Trialist Neal Trotman wears the skipper's armband. * Game underway. Pre-season games mean nothing....but.......... I've seen all three, and I'm left wondering where the goals are going to come from. As regards today it was really a Professional Development side with MS in charge. Very few of those on show will feature in the first eleven. Higgins (RB) put in another solid performance, and two trialists Trotman (CB) and Thompson (CF) looked useful. Preston probably did enough to be No2. Gosling ran around in MF and White bustled up front. Only Lucas and Harrison came on as subs. Harrison is still not doing it....slow and not getting stuck in. Real irony that Keary scored...but good for him! We may not give many away, and our midfield will be tidy, but we aren't going to be banging in the goals on the showings so far. Bath City deserved their win. I reckon the 'first' team will play v Yeovil on Tuesday, then a similar side to today's against Mangotsfield on Wednesday.
Trotman's a bit of a journeyman, but I'm sure he would be great for us. But where does that leave McChrystal and Parkes?
It all seems a bit last minute. Is he trying to prevent the sorts of pre season injuries we've suffered in other years?
Goals, Goals, Goals every other team other than Rovers can score them. Looks like another Season of struggle. 15 clean sheets last Season should have been enough to avoid relegation but the Strikers (????????) let us down. Whats changed this coming Season based on the past 3 games, SWEET FA !!!!!!!!! Same old story. My guess is that we are about to lose a generation of potential Fans as we did when The Filth won promotion and were in the Old First Division.
