Apparently he wants around £90k per week and you've baulked at it and gone back to QPR to try and get a discount, lol.
Borini out Remy in is indeed one out one in... But Markovic, Can and Lallana are 3 in 0 out so that's improved depth (I'm Not counting the loss of Aspas, Moses or Borini as they did **** all last year anyway).
that lb has gone back hasn't he? Cissokho or something like that, thats another out even though was only a loan. i should imagine Toure will be off as well.
In losing Aspas, Moses, and Fabio, we've lost 1 goal and 1 corner... so the above coming in over these guys is a +tive. Some ITK's (I know I know...) claim a comprimse as been reached with his wage demands and that he should sign next week.. He's a decent 3rd choice to have IMHO, rather have him coming on from the bench than Aspas. I liked Fabio, he was/is a trier, we all love a trier, but he was limited, if it goes through, then best of luck Fabio!
Totally agree. Wisdom needs confidence and a tad of arrogance too. Suso could be up there with Cotinho, hopefully.
£90k a week should be what he aspires to if he makes an impact like stirling. If he thinks he can reach that level, he should bite our hand off for the chance to prove it (say, at £30k a week for the first season). If he doesn't agree to that, then you have to question his ambition and his own belief in his ability. Too many kids getting paid superstar wages when they've done **** all to prove themselves.
No actually it isn't! Borini, assaidi were out on loan last season, Alberto and Aspas didn't really feature and Moses was crap. So we have got rid of 3 bench warmers and 2 players who were out on loan and now have 5 players all pushing to get in the 1st team!
Errrmmm, he's 27 and a full international with a proven track record mate. He's also on that already at QPR
Well I didn't realise he was that old, but.... still don't think players should waltz in on big wages until they've proved themselves. I know the deal we did with Sturridge was about wages rising based on performance, and even Lallana I hope isn't being given £100k yet until he 'proves' himself at this level. See, if you get Lukaku (still if) that's different - he proved himself for the club last season (though my B/S brother-in-law says he's rather have Bony, but that's another story) And even an old fart such as Barry - you know what you're getting. I just hope this isn't another harry Kewell -'Oh we've got him cheap - let's give him a five year contract at the same level as our top earners'.
14 goals in 26 games for a struggling Newcastle suggests he has a handle on the league tbh. Compared to Lukaku's 15 in 31 for a flying blueshite side
Think he got 1 in 2 for QPR the year before as well. If he gets that again for us this year then i'll be happy.
We'll see what he does in CL games and games against the top six, but even if we've got someone to score against the lower teams who'll put up massed defences like Hull, Palace and United I suppose he'll be useful.
Good spot. Yes indeed, my idol (not Coe and Ovett) when I was a jogger (no better than that!) oh so many years ago.
You mean the Hull massed defence that scored 3 goals in a win over you and one of the only EPL teams to play 2 out and out strikers every week? Indeed the media roundly criticised naivety when lining up either 3-5-2 or 4-4-2 each week.
