Bad transfer policy at Liverpool do you never learn your lesson from buying the best players of lower league teams
Hey, he was the captain of a top ten Premier League team and played a part in all the matches of England's world cup run! To be fair, in cereal terms, chocolate goodness is one of the best goodnesses there is.
I'm not bashing chocolate goodness. Chocolate goodness is very good goodness indeed... Llama has a role to play for us... I think he will do a job... just not a marquee.
If you're referring to Remy being owned by QPR- that's hardly relevant since he's been playing in the Premier League and we haven't signed him yet. What happened to Remy regarding the rape charges... that worries me more than the fact he is owned by QPR.
Going on the organisation of the not606 boards (which is the benchmark to use), QPR are a Premier League team now anyway.
In case it's not clear, I wasn't being entirely serious by suggesting he was a marquee. Like you, I think he'll do a job for us, and a good one at that, just won't be the next Suarez/Gerrard/Torres/etc.
Adem Ljajic eyed by both Manchester United and Liverpool Louis van Gaal has turned his attentions to surprise transfer target Adem Ljajic, despite the fact that he is considered a Manchester United reject from a failed move to Old Trafford in 2009, and could make a move to sign the 22-year-old this summer. Ljajic, who is also wanted by Liverpool, is deemed surplus to requirements at Roma following the signing of Juan Manuel Iturbe, and will likely be sold to the highest bidder as his club look to make a profitable return. As such Van Gaal and Brendan Rodgers have both registered an interest in him, and may see him as a cheap option to bolster their front lines. According to the Daily Express Roma chief Walter Sabatini has already met with the youngster to inform him of the situation, and the Italian giants will definitely be selling him on as they look to improve their side following an impressive campaign last term. Ljajic’s United history The winger was initially courted by the Red Devils between 2008 and 2010, and was all set to move to the club before Sir Alex Ferguson and Co. pulled the plug late on due to work permit difficulties. At the time Ljajic was technically owned by United, and had even been training with the first-team squad ahead of what he perceived would be his big move. However it was not to be and instead he signed for Fiorentina, going on to make 78 Serie A appearances over five years, whilst also accumulating eight caps for the Serbian national side. Now a far more mature player than he was before, it looks as though Van Gaal may be prepared to hedge his bets on the man United once spurned, but will face competition from one of his new Premier League rivals. Liverpool interest The Express claims that Liverpool is a potential destination for the playmaker, which would make sense given the fact that Rodgers is looking to invest in attack-minded players following the sale of Luis Suarez. With over £75million to spend the fee for Ljajic would be negligible, and the only potential obstacle would be the amount of room to accommodate him The likes of Raheem Sterling, Adam Lallana and Lazar Markovic will all be competing for places in similar positions next term, and Rodgers could end up deciding that Ljajic simply isn’t needed at Anfield, despite his longing to increase his squad depth ahead of a testing Champions League campaign. http://www.givemesport.com/486627-adem-ljajic-eyed-by-both-manchester-united-and-liverpool
That is one for the future (a very expensive one). We have not targeted four players from a team that finished six places below us. If Brendan thinks Southampton are so good he needs to either change clubs or buy the whole team and put his philosophy into it.
I disagree, he's a very good defender and likes to attack. He also has one hell of a shot on him. He's the closest thing to Riise since he left us, and to be honest since he left we've always struggled at LB. The times I've seen him play he has defended very well - because of his pace he can get back into position quickly, if he goes on a burst up the wing. For me he's exactly what we need, suits our style perfectly.
