Selling Borini and Assaidi would bring in enough funds to buy bony without touching the Suarez money. Then you would have a player who would bring far more to the team than the other 2 for little outlay. Then take the Suarez money and buy Marco Reus whatever it costs. Buy Moreno and pay what you have to if that's the player you want. Buy lovren if that's who Rodgers believes will help us at the back. Even then we would probably have enough to het Remy ! I really don't think he's worth anywhere near the £20m they're after for him. From what I've seen he's very fast, but isn't a great defender and doesn't really have much going forward except pace and dribbling. The Atletico LB Chelsea just signed for between £15-20m would've been great, but we didn't even try. I'm sure there's a reason the scouts like Moreno that I'm not seeing but I don't get why we're willing to go to £16m for Moreno and just £8m for Davies (who I didn't want either) don't see much between them.
Sky Sport Italia reporting that Remy deal is done apart from him signing the contract, 5 year deal apparently.
How old is Remy these days? I really like Borini and am sad to see him go, but Remy plus 6m in exchange for Borini (in effect) seems like fairly decent business. This assumes prices of 8m and 14m respectively.
For once, keeping pace, spendingwise with the rest of the big-teams (granted... we sold a biggie)... the main difference is we don't have a marquee signing... not that we necessarily need one.
Lallana isn't a marquee... he's an additional subtext like in "Kellogs Chocolate Flakes; Now with added Chocolate goodness" Liverpool is "Liverpool football club; Now with added Lallana goodness"
