Ahh who cares I reckon we will sign 5 more players. Three permenant and 2 loans. The reason everything has slowed down is because each move depends on another move. For example we need to get a proven or quality defender, so there is no point signing 2 unproven defenders like Miguire and Robertson when we might not get the proven option. That would leave us extremely light in quality for the season. In an ideal world we need 2 centeal defenders 1 full back 1 creative/attacking central midfielder 1 striker

Do we? We did alright last season with Chester, Davies, Bruce, McShane and Faye as our centre-backs, Figueroa can play at centre-back as well. We've only lost Faye and he didn't play much at all last season anyway, Maguire and Robertson would do just fine.
We obviously do need a proven central defender otherwise we wouldn't have tried to get Dawson or Lescott. There where times last year when we where incredibly poor and we vastly need to improve the squad every year to build on what we have and avoid the dreaded R word. Two guys that could quite possibly flop from league one and Scottish football I don't believe would be sufficient enough. Fair enough theSe two could go on to be great players after a few seasons but it is unlikely they are going to hit the ground running. They are for the future but we also have to consider now. Chester proved last year that he was relatively injury prone and then that leaves us pretty low on quality cover. If we are to vastly improve and get better as a team then McShane and Bruce can't be seen as completely viable options and who's to say figs won't have another calamity season.
I was asked a direct question. I think a CM will come after defence is sorted. I'd really like to see someone like Nathan Redmond in a central role.
The same Nathan Redmond that plays on the wing and nowhere else? That's a bit more ridiculous than signing two young defenders.
I didn't say we need Dawson I just I think we need a proven quality defender which is proven by our pursuit of two proven defenders. This is going to be a long hard season and if either Davies or Chester get an injury then we look very light on someone we know can hack playing against the big teams at this level. Bruce and McShane are okay covers but not good enough on a mid to long term basis. We need to stay in the league at all costs and a proven defender or someone with a lot of quality already there is a must in my opinion if we are to survive. We threw away too many points last season when we didn't need to and these are the players that define you.
1. Nathan Redmond can play on the wing, in a central role or just off the striker. 2. I don't think signing two youngsters is ridiculous. I just think signing only two unproven youngsters is a risky game to play when the stakes are so high.
