McIlroy has just gone odd ons 10-11 to win the Open. Happy with my post on Wednesday where I bet on 8 of the top 10 in the betting knowing as they were all 14-1 or higher that any winner from these eight would at least double my money. Got 16-1 on McIlroy so looking good. Do not agree that with 36 holes to go, McIlroy is odds on though!!

The 10/11 looks the bet of the year now. Was watching the in running market myself was tempted to go in again pretty heavy around 6/4 when he was 2-3 clear but didn't. Its an exhibition out there, when he's like that the rest may go home. Kind of pissed tho even though I backed yesterday at 12/1 its hardly going to be exciting viewing bar something dramatic happens.

 

Still think he'll bottle it, he's had bigger and similar leads in the past going to day 4 before and still flopped it, and tomorrows day 3, meant to rain a bit as well and he doesn't like rain

 

Pontefract 8:00 - El Beau has to be worth a bet to take on the fav, El Beau drifted out to 3/1 and I see the top two in the betting being a lot closer than the betting suggests. El Beau also had a decent return run last month after 8 months off, think it'll go close

 

In the end one of the unfancied runners comes and takes it, just didn't like that fav.

 

Its unlikely Chelsea. When he was in a similar position in the US Open he won by a record margin and his 1 bogey in 36 holes can hardly give the chasing pack much hope. He's a very good front runner in recent years but I do hope there's a wobble somewhere, there has to be, to prevent a rather dull non event. Would quite like to see Adam Scott make a charge but he's 9 back. The rest of the chasing pack looks short enough on 'pedigree players' mainly players yet to win a Major so its hard to see much pressure being applied but hopefully someone can.

 

Come on spencer, giving you one last chance, don't f'uck up for once, you're on the future beast and the best horse in the race ffs, just win!!
