O/T plane shot down

This thread has been closed with no reason given and I dont understand why? Everybody was getting involved and the debate was flowing. I was really enjoying it.

 

Apparently it was the OP who requested it to be pulled mate, but I agree that it was a decent debate that was a credit to those involved..

 

Ah well, it's a real shame but I like Para and trust he had his reasons for doing so.

 

I requested the thread to be pulled as I'm the person that started as that's my entitlement - my opinion is politics and debate from afar(or even at the end of a keyboard) is one thing - the tragic death of a couple of local supporters is another- its too close to home!

If anyone has any issues with this feel free to pm me- as this the last thing I'm writing publicly on the matter

Always been the OPs right to have something pulled mate. That was the reason, simple as that. If they ask to pull it I'm not going to say no.

Would agree there was nowt wrong with the debate as such, more a matter of context and timings.

 

I think it's a shame cos it was a great thread, and although there was the odd disagreement it was generally a really good debate.

As Disco says though, OP always reserves the right to close.

 

It was a good debate in places, I tried about half hour ago talking to my mrs about it at lunch. The mrs isn't the brightest bulb bless her, needless to say that lasted about a minute before I couldn't be bothered anymore.

 

My lass asked why the plane didn't move out of the way of the missile, but there you go.

 

That made my head hurt.

 

You've got no idea what she's like mate. Don't know how I've not traded her in yet, if she didn't keep herself in shape she would have absolutely nothing to her.

She comes out with some mind boggling stuff, and not on an intelligent level that I couldn't comprehend, I mean in a "How ****ing thick can ya get" type of way. I'm gonna start writing them down.

It's my mrs being so gullible that keeps me entertained no end, last year in Spain I convinced her that it's rude not to order the bill in Spanish and I taught her how to order the bill in Spanish, well she thought I did anyhow... "Siniora, favio parcenta los tarda por favor" **** knows what she ended up coming out with, but the waiter just stood there looking at her like she was completely mental and me and my pal just sat there in hysterics at her, she just kept repeating it, she ****ing wrote it down.

 

Our lass is normally intelligent, but she comes out with some stuff and I think she's taking the piss. A few years ago we were in Durham and she pointed to a sign saying "24 hour watch and clock repairs". She said, "isn't that ridiculous. Who's going to think at 2 in the morning, "I'm going to take my watch to get fixed".

 

Can't see the point of initiating a thread then closing it down. May as well just close the forum down.

 

Whilst i agree with this, i do sometimes ask my threads to be be closed, they often go off course...

However, being out all afternoon, i would have liked to see how it went, especially with you and your polish talk.

 

I think it is an unwritten rule of the forum that if the creator of a thread requests it to be closed then the mods have to adhere to his wishes..

 

It's true, i do it many a time.

 

There's some heartbreaking stories coming out now. Some parents put their 3 kids on the plane and stayed behind in Amsterdam. 80 children in total died on the plane. Of course the two northeast lads travelling to a football match. Absolutely devastating.
