No we're all seeded we can't play them. Re your last post, I reckon Hapoel Tel Aviv will turn that round, they're a good side. Big shock result.
On the tube ride back from the FA Cup final I moaned that we will wait for years to play in Europe only to end up at Motherwell!!
The first leg W(Won) L(Lost) D (Draw) KF Laci (Albainia) L FC Zorya Luhansk (Ukraine) W Motherwell FC (Scotland)D Stjarnan (Iceland)D FK Metalurg Skopje (Macedonia)D FK Željezničar (Bosnia and Herzegovina)D IF Brommapojkarna (Sweden)W Crusaders FC (Northern Ireland)L FK AS TrenčÃn (Slovakia)W FK Vojvodina (Serbia)L PFC Botev Plovdiv (Bulgaria)W SKN St Pölten (Austria)L So we will play one of these teams.
IF Brommapojkarna please. I fancy a trip to Sweden. In fact, anywhere in Scandinavia would be cracking.
Stupid question (feel free to point me to a relevant post) but what determines which teams we can be drawn against? I understand that certain teams are seeded like ourselves but are there really only 12 possible opponents?
It's determined by each club's coefficient. http://www.uefa.com/memberassociations/uefarankings/club/index.html According to UEFA, we have a higher coefficient than Monaco, Feyenoord, St Etienne and Wolfsburg, and have an equal coefficient with Everton.
We're unbeaten in European competition, so we should be seeded 1 and made the bookies' favourites for the Cup forthwith.
In European football, the UEFA coefficients are statistics used for ranking and seeding teams in club and international competitions. The club coefficient rankings are determined by the results of clubs in the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League over the previous five seasons, as well as by the coefficient of the clubs' association. The club coefficient is the sum of the points earned by the club over the five seasons plus 20% of the club's association coefficient. This ranking is used by UEFA to determine a club's seeding in club competition draws, including the preliminary and first rounds of the Champions League, and the preliminary, first and second rounds of the Europa League. It is quite long winded and complicated to explain fully. Basically, your nations' coefficient judges whether you are seeded or not.
