Can't believe this. I knew one of the blokes on the plane. He was on his way to New Zealand for the Newcastle games. Didn't know him too well, but he used to drink in the Cumberland Wrestler before the games before it shut. Never missed a game home or away since the 60's. Always wore a dark suit and used to be known by everyone as the undertaker. Tragic.

Dancers, I'm fairly sure a lot of what you say is tongue in cheek and you're not meaning to come across as serious, but I worked alongside American intelligence personnel during my time in the forces and their equipment and methods of data retrieval is second to none, and when I say it literally saved the lives of many of our troops overseas with real-time reporting, I am not exaggerating. The Anti-Yank stuff is funny for a while, but rest assured I'd choose no ally over them if I was preparing for a full scale operation.

 

Absolutely shocking, when you can put real faces to a tragedy and it's no longer just numbers and stats.

On real events of this week. One Ukraine military (Russian built) and one Ukrainian military transport plane shot down using Russian missiles by separatist Ukraine/Russians because they claimed it. One airliner shot down in same region - not by separatists or Russian but by combined US/Ukrainien/Polish war mongers. Just wish I had seen it sooner.

Look mate the Americans put 5 billion dollars into making this part of the work unstable, they've already ****ed up with Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria and countless other places. I don't believe everything the Americans tell me, all American Intel is used to fulfill their plans. After the illegal debacle that was Iraq why should anybody trust anything they say? Kids are being slaughtered on beaches in Palestine and where is the US Intel? If the us have there way Poland (which includes my family) will just be collateral damage.

So, forgive me if I say **** American Intel.

I think the people who lied to us re. WMD are still creating fictitious us intel. Germans now are hardly the Germans of 80 years ago. Bit of a bad analogy mate.

 

That's your opinion mate, but I wouldn't expect many to agree with it, to me it seems maybe exaggerated. I'm not going to get into politics as for one it doesn't interest me and secondly as a result of me not being interested, I'm not that clued up.

I have based my opinion on what I've seen with my own eyes, I've had friends in Afghanistan and Iraq, several in Basrah in 2003 who would have come home in a coffin draped in a Union Jack if it wasn't for the American facilities available to our intel reporters, and info relayed real time to ground commanders. Forgive me if my opinion is not as broad and controversial as yours.

That's my point though mate, I didn't have to endure any 'losses' of my friends, thanks to the guys I worked alongside. You can claim it as hard truth, you can attempt to put your own spin on it as much as you want but the fact is we went to war with Iraq, and at that point soldiers don't ask questions, they just get on with their jobs. People protested, fair enough, and people get the rumour mills in full flow, but trust me, whatever lies were or were not fabricated by government organisations, the amount of terrorist insurgents in that country was and still is ridiculously high. A nation living in fear, because of their own people, much the same as Syria is right now.

You're incredibly deluded if you even remotely entertain the idea that Iraq was a safe nation under Saddam Hussein.
