What's your point? I'd much rather spend more on Ulloa and have him earning the same as the rest of the squad than sign a worse player earning more than the rest of the squad. The wage budget isn't for cutting down spending as such, it's to keep the squad in line. We've been down the route of offering millions to players no better than others in the squad, as have you. The morale of the squad pulled us through many games last season. This squad wants to work for each other, we're not going to ruin that by signing someone who would be a backup player at most.
Let's just get one thing straight, Campbell wouldn't be a backup player. He's better than Nugent or Vardy.
Long/Jella or Ulloa for £7m? Championship strikers for £7m is just ludicrous. I think Campbell would be a far far better signing
Hull are hardly in a position to call transfer fees ludicrous, when they've just spunked 15m on Snodgrass and Livermore.
Both Premiership players, Snodgrass was Norwich's POTY and Livermore has been fantastic for us. Both young too and British. A little different to an unproven Championship player...
I don't think it's misguided at all, I've seen both Nugent and Vardy play many, many times and I can say with all certainty (and painful as it is to admit) that the one they call Campbell is the better striker. Perhaps not by much, but he's better nonetheless. If you're gonna spunk £7m on a striker at that level, you might as well go all out for Jordan Rhodes or, if NP has as much faith in his strikers as you do, then an AM like Albert Adomah or Wilfried Zaha.
It's obvious what his point is. Snodgrass and Ulloa cost the same, but Snodgrass might score more than a striker, therefore proving his signing to be ****. If you need further help understanding words, feel free to PM me.
Hardly any comparison at all that Andy. Never likely to happen and you know it. Your defending of Ulloa is admirable. However, where I was reading from, just the point Being bandied about, was the transfer fee, for what 7m each. That's the only comparison i can see, until they do play, respectively. So you are right.
Exactly, my mooted / muted point. Thanku Lewis. Andy nana nana.Ulloa Will be utter Drivel in your style of play. Whereas Snodgrass, will be rifling the goals in all season long. You can just tell.
of course your right. Andy. We are both following different clubs with at this point in time a sense of excitement in the air in our , both respective cities. No one can foretell the season ahead. As for getting the point. Yes, like a Sledgehammer. Do you ever post with a slight tongue in cheek, or are as you as tightly wound as you come across. Good Luck in the Season. I for 1 will b keeping close watch on the fortunes of the foxes.
I know what you mean, but it's a pretty pedantic point to make; while it's not impossible that it could happen, you're asking an ageing CB (who by your own measures has said won't be a starting regular) to score more goals than an out and out attacking player who is pretty much guaranteed to start for us (or indeed any other attacking player). To quote Partridge "It'd take some doing but I can't see it".
