Rio is better than Aguero.. top tekkers........
It is also said that Rio was fit 95% of last season for United but Moyes decided to go for youth (that went well), hence him not playing regularly. And Ryan Giggs said that if he had got the United gig permanently Rio would have been a certain starter this season. Rio has been known as Uniteds fittest player along with Giggs. It's all about which way we twist every article and story we hear. I respect that we stand on different sides re this signing. Hopefully it will work out for our common good which is QPR. I won't hold it against you if he turns out a success, same way I hope you won't hold it against me if he fails. This isn't what's most important imo, it's what follows that matters the most. Have we learnt from past failures? Based on this signing, no. Hopefully when the window closes we can positively say we have. Fingers crossed.
David McIntyre ‏@davidmcintyre76 Can never tell what'll happen if you sign a 35yr-old that's had injuries. But I'd have signed Ferdinand on a one-year contract like a shot. David McIntyre ‏@davidmcintyre76 Some of the cynicism based on previous signings couldn't possibly be wider of the mark. Totally different player and circumstances. Coming from David Mac that is a massive vote of confidence. Not that it will matter one jot to the naysayers on here.
The fact that Rio makes our butt ugly home shirt look good can only be a good omen It is growing on me I have to admit. please log in to view this image
Fair enough Norway! The only thing I'd hold against you would be another victory over me in the Prediction competition next season I'm not sure if this has been posted by the way:
UTR"s, I think the reason Rio had such a beast ( long ) day was because he was all ready to go and sign up but one look at the new kit, he fled. Tonz managed to lasso him with the play station cord while Harry tripped him up with his crutches. Either way, it's great to see him here with us and hopefully, it will have a knock on affect with other players joining,
Another of the 'right sort'. We are getting a team together that will have many leaders unlike last time we went down...
That could be a worry, Sooper ............. to many chiefs and not enough Indians make going hmmmmm, tough ( spoken with forked tongue ).
I fear some of last season's defensive leaders will not be regulars...that is where Rio comes in....the rotation of CAn Will be through the old crocks.....leaders everyone. Ned is not a leader
Was actually wondering the other day, we hadn't had any Leicester wums on for a while. Then out of the woodwork they come - lol
Flyer, I think you should read your own posts over the last year to find the person who hasn't got a bean.
Astute signing imo. I'd be amazed if it doesn't work well. And if Caulker comes, influenced by playing next to Rio, Rio's signing will be in credit before the season has begun...
I'm with you. i think he could have ended up a lot of places (middle east etc) on big, big cash so I don't think his intentions are mercenary. There is no doubt he can impart all his knowledge to the youngsters and that makes him a good acquisition. Only question mark is how much can he play and how much he's going to be expected to play. On his own Rio is an ok signing - if we back him up with a younger Caulkeresque CB then hopefully it'll morph into a very shrewd buy. Hopefully it'll be a Merson at Pompey style signing, as harry keeps going on about, and not another Ji Sung park jobby.
