You're spot on with this. I remember that Fulham game, as I was there, and everyone was calling for Cork to come on. I seem to recall, Wanyama had just returned from injury but wasn't fit at all, so Cork was logical to bring on. He did help change our style in the game, no doubt.

A very important player is Cork. In my opinion, of course.

People seem to forget that Cork was pretty bloody awful on his first game back into the side too (though I'm sure we can carry on brushing over that, and focus on Vic's bad moments instead).

Cork is a good player. He'll do any job competently. He plays to his potential. Wanyama will be a great player. He can be inconsistent but the best Wanyama is a much better player than the best Cork.

That's because they refuse to see how important Vic is when he plays and don't understand all aspects of football.

Fortunately our managers so far have understood and seen this......

Cork is a great backup to the two main midfielders, and as I've already said, will get a lot of game-time this season, as midfield is the position most prone to injury, lack of form or tiredness. So yes, absolutely, sign him up. We'll struggle to get backup as good as him.

Lets throw a curve ball in....

Cork or Morgan to stay? You can only choose one.

I believe it is important Cork stays as there is a strong possibility Morgan may go.

Rumours on Twitter and Yapper that Bindippers have put in a new improved offer for Lovren tonight.
Could be nearly bye bye time and time to open up the SMS vaults to stash the £25m....Scouse mugs!

Well yeah, absolutely - I think it's important he stays as he's a good player.

But if you had to choose, you'd surely always choose Morgan, no?

Funny that! Not only Pochettino, but also managers from all other teams in the league. I wonder if there's a reason bottom half teams are the only ones being linked to Cork? Probably because he's solid and nothing else. Like a younger Leon Britton.

Anyhow, this is the transfer rumour thread - so going by the bookies, here's your latest odds (we like players with 'J' names it seems) -

    Ins -

    Jordy Clasie - 6-1
    Javier Hernandez - 4-1
    James Milner - 20-1
    James McCarthy - 25-1
    John Ruddy - 14-1
Christian Benteke - 14-1 (should be longer odds, unless he changes his name to Jeffrey)
    Ron Vlaar - 16-1
    Scott Sinclair - 4-1
    Theo Walcott - 16-1 (interesting...!)
    Nicklas Bendtner - 16-1
    Wilfried Bony - 25-1
    Adel Taraabt - 25-1
    Jack Rodwell - 10-1

    Outs -

    Dejan Lovren - Liverpool - 1-5
    Jay Rodriguez - Spurs - 5-6
    Morgan Schneiderlin - Arsenal - 6-4

I love Cork but the talk of '2 main midfielders' perplexes me. Koeman is playing 4-3-3 with 1 midfielder in front of the defence. In my mind that leaves Morgan, Vic and Jack fighting for 1 prime position. We can't play all 3 in that midfield as it would be very defensively minded. So in reality I think Morgan and Vic will rotate in that position and Jack will be the fall guy.

That is unless Koeman wants to hold on to Jack in case he needs a 4-2-3-1 or 4-4-2 style.

And I agree with many of the others above. It wan't one poster that voted Jack Cork MOTM loads of times last season. I did too, yet I can see that under Koeman it may well be one DM too many for the formation we will play. I also agree (even allowing for Wanyama coming back from injury) that Cork was awesome in that second half and the team as a whole not giving the ball away (which Vic did in the first half a lot) meant that our attack had more freedom.

To take MP as saying 'We played it safe first half and pressed second half' as truth is a little fanciful TBH. Reminds me of Pardew when his team plays **** one half then conjures up a better second half.

Judging from the last 2 matches, it seems to be one DM, and two CM. Could always have something like:

    Wanyama

    Schneiderlin Davis

I think the most annoying part of this all is that he'll still get what he wants in the end.
