Remy for £8m doesn't seem bad to me. For a rotation option he can play anywhere across the front 3. Not going to light it up but could score 10+ goals and has plenty of pace. 14 goals in 24 games for Newcastle in prem last year is pretty decent. My main concern would be his attitude. Doesn't seem like a model professional.
I was going to say same thing. We could do a lot worse than Remy for £8m! Scored goals in Prem for QPR and Newcastle. Quick, can play wide, decent finisher and has played top level in CL and WC. Thing with Bony & Remy, if we had signed Remy for £8m from Lyon (or was it Marseille?) everyone would love it, but because it would be from QPR people are saying he's average. Similar with Bony. If we'd signed him from a Dutch team that finished mid table we'd be saying how he is a good player, scores goals etc, but because he's coming from a mid table English team people question it (despite it actually being better to sign him from Swansea because we know he can do it in the PL).
Think he's pretty much said he wants to go and play in Europe as well so QPR could struggle. Plus he'll be on big wages and they may want to just get rid and invest elsewhere, especially as they've just signed Rio who will no doubt be on silly money

Fair enough. If true, I'd definitely look at him before others but that doesn't mean he is the right signing still. I often say similar with free transfers, they might be free but that doesn't mean they are good enough.
Didn't say he was. You said would you be happy taking a player who had kicked up a fuss... didn't say anything about quality of said player. Be hypercritical to say you'd take them.. but only if WC. Bit like saying a player should be sacked for being banned for making racist comments.. but only if hes a youth player and never going to play, not if he's a £75m player. You either have morals, or you don't. You cant pick and chose when they apply
