This time next season we will be looking to replace Hill, Dunne and Ferdinand (assuming that Ferdinand doesn't have an automatic extension built into his contract). If we sign Caulker or Lascelles as well to alleviate this, will Onouha get the hump if he is not a regular starter?

Then again, perhaps we should just worry about the coming season and not think too hard about the following one.

With Harry's comments saying we will play 3 CB's next season it does show why we have these options there:

    Ferdinand
    Onuoha
    Dunne
    Hill
also linked with Caulker, Lascelles and Vlaar.

Onouha's a fantastic player who'll do a terrific job for a bottom half PL side. Maybe he'll go to a well-run club like Leicester or Burnley?

We'd have plenty of cover for the wise head in the middle, but not much for the two athletes on either side.

Which is why I'd hope to dump Dunne and sign two or three speedier CBs.
We've been linked with caulker, the forest bloke, vlaar and the Chelsea loan.

    Good signing.
Obviously dependent upon his fitness, but I'm hopeful that he will become a big favourite at LR.

At least we'll have a CB who can pass the ball out of defence.

I thought that when HH left after getting a new contract. He may leave if he's not included in the 25, he doesn't seem the type to do a SWP.
Oh god, I've just had a thought he could be our backup RWB.

I actually think that Hoilett could play right wing back. He defended very well last season whilst playing out wide.

Flyer, Nelsen said he felt his legs were knackered before he joined us, in his mind he was retiring and it was Hughes persuaded him to join. As he proved, he still had it in him and his decision to leave was nothing to do with his knees. You twist every little thing to your own agenda. You always like to make yourself look a pillock

I agree I was not convinced because of his age, but he is a professional and will as you say as an R will put in a shift each time he plays.

    I haven't twisted anything.

He admits he was playing on glass knees and ankles and talked to TF. So of course he's a liar now then eh?

Nelsen's playing contract at QPR runs until June 30, but the defender admits his body is struggling to cope with the demands brought by top-flight football.

"I've had several conversations with Harry and Tony Fernandes," the New Zealander said. "They have been so understanding with my situation.

"They understand that when I play I am playing on glass knees and glass ankles. It is a bit of a struggle.

You are just making yourself look a fool. Keep on digging.

Please don't remind me Killy!!! <grr>

I tried to put it out there but got shot down during the world cup. Guess the future will tell, everyone will see if he makes it or not. I'm convinced he will as he got the most important attributes you need to succeed in England.

The info contained within this link is taken from the QPR Player video interview with Rio which I've just watched. I never knew he was initially scouted by us as a 13 year old and that we were his first club. He used to sit in the loft in '92 and watch us with his dad. He named all the main players from that side and said he knows our history and that he's not here for the money. He said that he could've got more elsewhere. He also said that he has no ego and is not looking to put anyone's nose out of joint in the dressing room or in training. He then went on to say that he realises he is here to try and keep us up and he is willing to adjust his mindset. He seems well up for it. I hope he succeeds and he'll get my support as does anyone who wears the hoops.

    Top post mate <ok>

The way I see it too. It is to much accurate and believable info to be written by the PR department. I'm all in, hook, line and sinker. I'll look a right tit if it goes bad, but it feels right and I'll go with my gut on this one. He also said he talked Fernandes into it and not the other way around, sounds like "the right sort"© to me.

Funny how you leave out the rest of the comments in the article that give the full picture, yeah he says his legs are shot, he said that when he joined. But as per usual, you take something and twist it. Yes Nelsen says his knees are shot, saying that its tough and that it would be his last season. So if he had stayed with us, it would have only been till the end of the season, but then he would have lost the chance to manage in Toronto.

And why are you so wound up by Nelsen? He was Hughes singing, not your enemy Rednapp.

    You joke!

He also said that players like Serdorf at the world cup told him to "keep playing as long as you can." He readily admitted that the biggest attraction was premier league football (not the fact it's QPR). From the way he described things, it sounds like he knows this is his last crack at the top flight, and described it as a "fairytale finish".
I'm still not keen...but can't deny he strikes you as the sort of bloke you'd want alongside you in the trenches. I'm guessing he'll help maintain high standards in the dressing room too.

I haven't watched it yet, but this could be a good way to familiarise ourselves with the new signing

Me too, I hope it works out but you can never know. I like what he said about us but then I said the same when Granero signed. As mere fans we can only hope that these signings come good. What we discuss on here bears no weight either way.

Ps ...Re. Yours and Kilburn's Enner Valencia post. Can he do it on a cold and wet Tuesday night at the Etihad though?
