Lets' see what the satellite images show, if the missile was fired from inside Russia then there will be some questions that need answering, and that's putting it mildly.

Although they are not designed to track SAMs there seems to be a school of thought that they can. IF it's a SAM and IF it can be shown to have emanated from Russian territory then it's going to be nigh on impossible to blame it on the Ukrainians.

Saw that, but having the BUK itself is not sufficient. You need the accompanying radar unit and a dedicated trained team for its operation
