Yea I have to post that every once in a while. http://www.not606.com/showthread.ph...adge/page9?highlight=hull city ellewoods list Post 177 has a fairly short version of how I joined up.
Thanks ellewoods - interesting story that. Did your workmate have a Hull accent or an Oxford accent ? Quite a difference I've been told As they say, or some sod did ' Gigantic oaks from tiny acorns grow". Hang around - as our resident U.S. marketing guru (hopefully with the permanent addition of MSU City Draft to your team) with any luck you'll be able to claim more credit for City's progress ?
Well he is the only one I have known who has gone to Oxford so its hard to say. He def does not have a Hull accent. I went up to Seattle to watch the FA cup final with him and there were probably a dozen city fans there and at least a half dozen from Hull. They didnt believe that he was from there until he told them where he went to school and what neighborhood he was from. He says that happens all the time to him. After I joined up he did try to get a couple people at our work to become fans to but I dont think they ever did much but go to bars with us. When we were relegated I dont think I ever heard of them watching us again. I got a few of my fraternity brothers to watch us and I know they still cheer for us. I think only one of them have ever purchased anything from the club but I do know that they still watch us as they talk to me about games. Hopefully there are lots more good times ahead for us, and I will certainly take full credit for them if they do come our way.
While we are the poorest of the SEC schools, we get an even share of approximately $350 million that the SEC gets paid for TV every year. Our athletic revenue last year was $64 million. Keep in mind that this is a public school and not a for profit institution. This is good enough to be the 59th richest athletic department in the US, with Texas leading the pack with a budget of approximately $140 million annually. Our $20 million stadium expansion was paid for by a dead alumni who left something like $100 million to the athletic department. Well, since I am super new to this fandom, I doubt I could make a very good OP. However, I do have an account over there with a few hundred posts on it which will allow me to avoid hazing, so I will make a deal with this forum: One (or a few) of you design a good OP for that forum. I will edit and Americanize it for the local readers. You will receive credit for your work on there. Any takers?
The best 'export' we've had is IMHO: Philip Larkin Lincoln, Scunny & York have been rivals over the years, but Mr Hat's clearly sticking his tongue in his eternal cheek with "North Ferriby"..
It doesn't need to be crazy informative. Tons of cool pics of players, the new kit and the stadium, along with highlight reels and some general information would be fine. Just use the ones already over there as a guide.

Ellewoods, thank you for that tasty treat. Welcome Mississippi boys and speaking of tasty treats, we'll all be down to see you for barbecue.
Tiger Droppings? Im in! Some fooker has my name already on there...see? This Tiger thing is already a winner over there! Right, time to share some education...
Ah nuts, have to wait for the account to be verified or something. Comparing Stoke to how the USA play needs a response. Now.
And I would like to add that Hull University was at the forefront in the early discovery and developement of something in common use today in many electronic devices LCD displays.
All I can say about your invasion is: Good luck. One wrong move and the troll hive will activate- that is, if the soccer subforum is anything like the main board, SECRant. I'll be sure to say hi if you guys make a thread.
Keep an eye on new signings Robert Snodgrass and Tom Ince. Ince especially on top form could really make Big Headlines.
