What a sad pathetic man you are. You are the worst kind of 'fan' entirely self righteous, pessimistic and infinitely show you know nothing about the game. You are an utter embarrassment and it doesn't take much searching around this forum to find that a lot of other people think the same.

Then you make some wild assumption about how long I have been a fan for and think that it makes you a better fan. The whole 'I was there when we were ****' brigade are a joke. I was also there when we were **** but I don't use that as some method of trying to make out I am a better or bigger fan than anyone else.

I've had more season passes at Boothferry Park than I have had at the KC Stadium, I've tolerated what seemed like endless years in division 3. Warren Joyce, Terry Dolan and Mark Hately. Big giant costumes
Running around at half time, pitch invasions against Scunthorpe because we played so bad and the club taking a flag round the outside of the pitch to collect money so we didn't get locked out.

And after all that. Does that make me a better fan ? Does it ****!

So you and the guy that quoted you need to get your head out your arse.

Obviously although if they did the fool would find another reason to have a dig at them.

    Boring isn't the word.

I wasn't actually referring to Allam, I don't think he believes that changing the club name would generate additional income any more than I do.

I think a name change would make a difference, but it's circumstantial.

If we changed our name to The Directioners, for example, and used the 1D (yes 1D) logo as the badge, I think we'd attract loads of young girls into supporting us.

Same if we called ourselves The Beliebers with the Bieber logo.

Or maybe we could call ourselves The Wrestlers and make our home kit nothing more than a pair of underpants and lots of young lads would start following us.

Completely different scenarios to our predicament of course.

So has it all been worth it then, this abortion of a name change?

How much extra had it brought in?

How much have we lost through disenchanted fans/ bad will/ bad publicity?

Is there a shred of evidence that we wouldn't have got exactly the same sponsor with the name change miscarriage?

Is there a shred of evidence that we would have got the exact same sponsor without the name change nonsense?

I could be wrong but, seeing as the whole situation hasn't exactly been welcomed with open arms by the footballing community, I would think some companies who could have been potential sponsors might have wanted to stay away and not risk being tarred by affiliating themselves with the bad press.

It's about one Jacopovic in real terms.

Whereas without the name change we would have been able to buy ........?

I don't think the calibre of the sponsor is amazing but it is definitely better than many sponsors we have had and definitely better than Cash Converters. It is a worldwide company is terms of it being an Asian betting company.

Sure it could be better but it isn't a disaster either.

We aren't a massive club and it iso difficult to get quality and idealistic sponsors at this level from prestigious companies unless you are one of the top teams in the league and world. You only have to look at how big a club Newcastle are and how embracing their sponsor of Wonga is.

I'd much rather have 12bet.com than Wonga.

At the end of the day the are paying us 60% more than we were previous offered by Cash Converters.

But if you are a complete doom monger than at least it is only a 2 year deal.

Cash Converters paid to sponsor a Championship club not a Premier League one.

It is a very good deal! But my point is we've had all this **** about sponsorship and the money were getting won't cover the overspend! You must admit we have overpaid??

crash gate - on another thread I stated that I had to google the Southampton shirt sponsor. And isn't that one reason for companies sponsoring shirts - it is actually probably one of the cheaper forms of advertising.

And as for standard of Spanish football - which team did rather well in the Champions League. hardly a bad team. you obviously have already written a diatribe against whatever colours have been chosen for a 2nd and 3rd kit - and it will be done to the Allam's lack of fashion sense and how they should have employed a top fashion designer (as every other club owner has done in the past)

At the time Cash Conveters paid more than quite a few Premiership clubs had.
