What if you're a loyal City fan who can only afford a certain amount of games a season and choose to see their beloved Club play the best teams? Not necessarily to see the stars of those teams but to see their Team pit their skills against the best? Being unemployed at 60yrs old I certainly can't afford to buy a season ticket so do I watch the promoted sides at the lower scale range or wait for the better teams to visit. It doesn't make me any less of a City fan.
Surely you'll want to see City as much as possible, so you'll choose the cheaper games meaning you csn go to more? If people only come to see us play Man U and Liverpool, then they're coming for the opposition, not City, they won't contribute out so we might as well squeeze as much as we can out of them.
You can watch 3 cat C games for the cost of 1 cat A , unless you really wanted to see Liverpool Man U etc. you would choose 3 cat C games surely ?
Thought I explained that they might like to see their team pit their wits against the best instead of the teams who are just trying to find their feet in the PL. I know what you mean about more games but if they've got a limited amount of funds for the season then they're likely want to see the possible better games?
Agree with rover here, there's something special about seeing hull city playing some of the worlds giants in competitive matches, and that's not the opportunity to see the likes of Stevie g and franky the lamp. There's an edge to those games the others just don't have, an extra edge from the fans, the players, the pigeons which spend the duration of the match flying from one rafter to another, everyone ups their effort just that little bit more. And as I posted in another post they tend to be better games as well. They're not cagey must not lose games, the big teams come needing to and trying to win, we have a free hit and try to upset them so you get an attacking game of two sides actually trying to score and play some decent stuff. If I was in rovers position though I'd certainly aim at more of the cat c's.
I'm OK as I've got my season card... BUT ITS REALLY ****TY some supporters a will be priced out Its far worse then the name change / seat change / badge change IMO. The Allams need to have a bloody rethink and start dropping prices for those less well off. GIVE THE TICKETS AWAY FOR FREE TO ANYONE IN EDUCATION IF NEED BE. or do buy one get one free . CTWD should become a Cheaper Tickets group.
I would go for the cheaper games Mr Hat if I couldn't afford season ticket. I go to watch Hull City and the opposition have nothing to do with it.
That sounds snotty that Mr Hat. Didn't mean it to . Just hopping mad when i read about fans not being able to go because of prices. Grrr
So anyone at Uni who has held a season ticket for years is suddenly a plastic for wanting to watch City on the weeks they can get back home?
If you watch the televised games on TV and attend the non-televised games live, it's likely to cost you less than a season ticket, regardless of the daft matchday ticket prices. Considering that it also results in thousands of empty seats at some games, that's a fairly daft system.
Maybe they should do a loyalty discount for ex passes holders on cat A matches and then screw as much money out of the daytrippers as possible.
I wonder what the category b games would go for on average if City tried that system Derby are using of marketing tickets in the way budget airlines do.
If students can afford to go out and get p****d they can afford to pay more than a tenner for football. It is a matter of priorities. A lot complaining about prices managed to pay more and travel costs to London twice in a few weeks. And would no doubt find more if their favourite band was appearing.
Only you don't know IF all those at uni who support Hull City did afford to go to Wembley twice.. Myself I would rather we played in packed stadium then one with 2 or 3,000 empty seats. I would rather give the tickets away to students , school kids and those out of work...chances are there will become a time when those people have jobs and can afford season cards.
