He will be immortalised on tyneside mate but i can guarantee in 20 years time the country will still be talking about Beckham, Giggs, Scoles etc but not so much of Shearer because kids will ask "what did he win daddy" and the reply will be embarrassing for him. Marcus - a lot of Cloughies goals came int he 2nd tier of English football mate and none of Shearers did. I'm a dyed in the wool red & white but I have to concede that Shearers is the better record. Now if its managerial records you're debating............lol
Guess we'll have to agree to disagree and will see in 20 years who's right! Shearer's managerial record isn't very good but you can't judge him on managing a floundering team full of ego's in the last eight games of the season with games against Chelsea , Liverpool and Tottenham to come... Give that some time
As cestria said a lot of Clough's goals came in the second tier , all of Shearer's came in the Premier League and in Europe as well.
****in hell man I'll be 66 years old (if I make it that far) and I'll not even remember to wipe my own arse by then, let alone who the **** Alan Shearer was.
didn't look thru them all. How did super kev not at least get top 3? bit of mags bias I think. Did Thomas Hauser and Tom Ritchie get a mention?
