Of course transfer rumours should be taken with a pinch of salt Lidls, that's a given, but don't you find a fortnight's worth of daily transfer rumours about the same player at least a little suspicious?
The rag that is the Daily Fail even implicated themselves as part of an attempt to unsettle a player, when reporting Daniel Levy's statement.
    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ottenham-chairman-Levy-Modric-sale-price.html

Note that they're one of three papers that claimed that Luka Modric told them exactly the same thing, word for word, which the other two have claimed as an exclusive interview.

Papers may believe that they've each bought an exclusive story, but none of them can believe that they've actually spoken to Modric as they've claimed, if that's how they're getting it.

Why would a media outlet choose to do the bidding of a club?
Well, as I've shown before, they have their reasons.
For example, one reporter at the Mail had several inoffensive human interest interviews with Man Utd players, leading up to a couple of bits posted about Modric going to the same club.
It's not difficult to see how a journalist could be offered stories in return for printing one that a club has asked for, especially when he'll get paid for all of them.

    That's not true.
I have a decent knowledge of the bible, but I don't think that it's accurate.

You're saying that if you know something, then you should agree with it, Lidls.
    That's clearly not true.

Bale being the best left sided player in the world? Is that not an example of being overhyped?

It's a matter of opinion and one that I don't share, but it's a typical reaction to a player having a good game against a famous opponent in the Champions League.
How many times do we have to hear about 'World Class' Fabregas, despite the fact that he can't get into Spain's starting XI, for example?

Papers write speculation when there is reason for it (however little the reason may be). You have good players that other teams want but you are not in the champions league so the Daily Fail and Sun etc write about how they will want to leave. If we dropped out of the top 4 we would get the same kind of bullshit articles written about us. As I said, its part of being a big club that you have to live with all this media attention.

    Not necessarily.
He may have meant that he was aware of that opinion, much like you would be in a political debate.
You may know each side's version of the truth, but you simply couldn't agree with them all.

It was a typical British reaction yes, but that does not mean it wasn't overhyped. When a British club plays well against an illustrious opponent the media go overboard about it (compare with schalke's result against inter) and you were no exception to that.

Sorry I made a stupid spelling mistake. You should focus on what else I said though.

Luke, It's clearly obvious that three papers can't have the same "exclusive" Yet, these rags are all attributing those statements as having been made by Modric himself, whilst conveniently forgetting to mention that they haven't actually spoken to the player himself. I will repeat what I have said before, if somebody is claiming that these are direct comments made by Modric, then they must surely have recorded evidence of this. If so, let's hear it. If not, then it's all hearsay, and these Journos should not be attributing them as direct comments.

So you're saying that the British media are biased towards British clubs because they emphasise them in their reports?
Nothing to do with people in Britain largely not giving a crap about the result between a German and an Italian team, then?

The media report things that they think will interest the public.
They also tend to hype people and clubs that are British, partially through a natural bias and partly because they like to build things up to knock them down.

Yes I am saying that, and also that they make no exceptions towards you. There is no anti-spurs agenda.

Hmmmm, one spelling mistake and you decide that there is no point arguing that the media are not conspiring against your club. Seems very defensive to me.

All you have claimed is that Spurs' results against the Milanese clubs were reported in the same way that other English clubs would have been.
That's your idea of the media loving us, is it?

Fiberglass. An example of what irritates as fans of Spurs was printed in the Mirror this morning. What a load of irrelevant bollocks. "If Modric is sold" How many more times - he's staying, then "Bale will demand a transfer" Well as Modric is NOT being sold, why print such a pointless load of tripe??

I agree its very annoying and I don't see why they do it. I was just arguing that they do it to everyone and not just you. To be honest I hope you keep Bale and Modric because any player who goes to Chelsea instantly turns in to a dick.

They loved you because you got good results and did it in a brave attacking way, nowadays you are not doing so well so they turn against you a bit. Thats all I am trying to say.
