    Giving away is giving away.
You don't get taxed on a charitable gift, but you still give the cash away.

Brucey has admitted we've been raped for price because our signings are British.

We have. English players get slapped with huge price tags for some strange reason. Andy Carroll went for £35M, Luke Shaw went for £30M, Ross Barkley has a £50M price tag. There's a reason why the England national team underperforms, our players think they're better than they are FFS.

Teams should get an extra payment from the FA every time they field a first 11 that is 80% (and above) British/Irish....take the edge off these inflated prices. We'd be quids in

I thought you could off set all charitable donations against your yearly income so tour current tax code is lowered ?
I though I read it somewhere or was it a dream ??

I don't think Premier League footballers care much about tax codes, at that level the government takes half your money, that's all you need to know.

That's right. Effectively it increases your personal allowance should you have one.

    1. Everybody has a personal allowance.
    2. It only increases if you are over 65, not something most professional footballers need to worry about (and as OLM stated, the amount of money they are earning, the saving of a few hundred quid of tax is not something they'll fret about)

Erm, GC - don't you think many clubs would look for that advantage?

(Could have the effect of pushing up prices for 'native' players)

Sheff Utd boss Nigel Clough tells BBC Radio Sheffield that Hull City have submitted a fresh bid for Blades defender Harry Maguire (1/2)

(2/2) However, Clough states the offer from #hcafc didn't meet their valuation of Maguire. #sufc

If Burnsy was still sports editor then he would be out in Portugal or would have sent someone. RH are like us just waiting to hear back from Buckingham and / or tweets.

Dawson deal is not dead yet - but it could well take more time than some on hear can accept. The issue is between MD and Spurs.

As Spurs want him out then they should do the decent thing and pay him up.

You pay for quality. But As for being raped, West Ham yet again over Enner Valencia. £15m ? <yikes>

But with British/Irish players generally you know they will fit in and perform, so is less of a gamble With foreign players with no EPL experience there is a long bedding in time, and often they don't settle or perform.

    Correct John.

Tom Ince on top form will open many eyes and Snodgrass was Norwich's best player last season.
You look at who they have replaced and again the squad is far better. Plus having Brady and Aluko 100% will be like 2 new players.

Many on here forget just what did last season without Brady and Aluko for much of the season. Joe Dudgeon when fit is a quality player also. Yes the squad looks well set for a top 10 place imo.

Joe dudgeon looked exciting when he got his run of games but don't forget he wasn't withou his faults and errors that you'd expect from a young kid learning the game. He was playing his first proper run of senior football when he got injured and still has a lot to learn. He's been out a very long time and it will take him a long time to get back to the level he was starting to reach when he got crocked. I think some people are expecting far too much of him if they think he has a real part to play this season. I think he'll be proving his fitness, out on loan for the majority of the season then evaluated at the end. When Figueroa's contract expires, Dudgeon could then step up and fill the void.

I certainly wouldn't gamble anything on him this season, I'd definitely look to bring in a new full back and I'd get dudgeon out to get game time under his belt to see if he's up to it. Remember what happened to Cameron Stewart, the long injury layoff could have ruined him, with what's at stake it's too risky to pin any hopes on him.

I agree, I think he will probably play more of a roll in the Cup games and the Euro games.
