dubious source re Montero Swansea have won the £4million race for Ecuador’s World Cup left winger Jefferson Montero. The Welsh club are willing to meet the asking price of Mexican side Monarcas for their pacey wide-man after he picked them as his ideal move. Montero was approached by the Swans along with West Ham and Sunderland during the past few weeks - and while he was in Brazil. Now winger Montero has told Monarcas he wants to go to Swansea because he thinks their style will suit him. Montero - who speaks good English - has been linked with Premier League moves for years but now has his chance. He's got to the age now when it's time to **** or get off the pot, as has Lee Lucas......and (and I say this every summer it seems!) Jazz Richards. I don't think anyone sees Jazz as our next right-back or defensive midfielder so maybe it's time to let him go? He'll do a good job for somebody somewhere...if he moved for 1st team football it would be good for Wales too.
Reported that Monk will be offering Routledge a 3 year extension until 2018, he'll be 33 when the contract runs out. Does anyone think Routledge has the ability to change position as his pace goes? Where would you play a slower Routledge?

Yes, he does. Joined Reading in 2005 and left in 2010 when he was 20, so he spent way more than the 36 months needed to qualify.
