Remember ROGUE DANCER? Ran from 10lb out of the handicap last time and only found one too good to land our punt! Runs tomorrow Uttoxeter 3:50 but please don't ask me how its going to get on!
I am winning regularly at the moment but everything I put on here is completely ****ing useless!

British Open Golf starts Thursday morning and the odds have really caught my interest. No one is less than 14-1 to win. Very rare. Therefore there is an opportunity to follow the big players in the majors and make some money. I have had equal bets on 8 of the top 10 in the betting and should any of them win, I double my money at the very least because of the high odds. Have covered Scott, Rose, Stenson, Kaymar, McIlroy, McDowell, Day and Speith. Ignored Mickelson (out of form and by law of averages unlikely to win 2 years running and Tiger - no form and major record is appalling in last 6 years). Should get a run for my money over the 4 days as a few of these 8 players should be there or there abouts.

Fancy Scott or Donald or Fowler.

Woods @ 22/1 still can't be unbacked tho, could easily do a O'Sullivan ( Come back from a long break and just wipe the floor with everyone )

I religiously back Adam Scott in the Open, he will win the thing some day and I will toast him when he does <bubbly>
I'm also thinking Rickie Fowler. Someone's going to have tip Lee Westwood aren't they. The ultimate 'cliff' man <laugh>

I am really hoping Shiekh Hamdan does not run Tagroodah in the Irish Oaks but instead allows her to take her chance in the King George. She would get an extra 3lb fillies allowance on top of the already generous 3 year old allowance. There is also no stand out horse and I feel she would give it a real go ad allow us to see how good she is, I suspect very good. I am sure it is noted that I tend not get over excited and run away with horses being great before they have proved it, but I feel Tagroodah could be the best filly we have seen for a while.

It is a shame Australia is not in there for the same reasons as it would really test him as opposed to his hack canter in the Irish Derby riding a piece of work against his stable mates.

Couldn't agree more. This looks like it could be a huge let down of a race this year which would be a shame as it's one of my favourites.

Afternoon, all. Bit of disappointing news is that the ‘group horse in a handicap’ I spoke about yesterday won’t now be running on Friday, at Hamilton Park, due to the ground (she’s only actually run on turf once without the word ‘soft’ appearing in the descriptor although genuine ‘good’ underfoot conditions should not be a problem). However, providing Newmarket doesn’t dry up markedly by Saturday, and that should not be the case as storms are forecast for the region for 24 hours from Friday evening onwards, she will run at HQ on Saturday. She’s called ATHENIAN, what a lovely name for a filly, by the way. The syndicate who own her are based in the county but she’s trained in Newmarket by none other than, can you believe it, Sir Mark Prescott. Nudge, nudge, wink, wink say no more...

Typical of a Prescott horse she had 3 runs as a 2YO showing little before improving markedly the following term to win 4 out of 5 handicaps. In ’13 Athenian stepped up on this to win off 85 and run some hugely creditable races in defeat. These include a head defeat by Spinatrix (now rated 102), when in receipt of just a pound and a Listed race 4th just 1.5 lengths off Eton Rifles (now perched on 106) when in receipt of no more than the customary sex allowance. This will be Athenian’s first race of the term but I wouldn’t be at all concerned by that as the old rogue knows how to ready one to win first time up and the old girl’s form first time out these past 2 seasons reads -12.

On her runs in that Listed contest and behind Spinatrix it doesn’t take a huge leap of faith to see her as a Group horse in a handicap and connections certainly envisage her gaining some valuable ‘black type’ by the end of the campaign. Off a current perch of 92 then she looks most attractive at the moment.

She also has entries in Ascot’s £150,000 ‘International Handicap’ on Saturday week and the following weekend’s ‘Stewards Cup’. Incidentally, to get in either of these mega rich events the old girl needs a penalty and therefore a win prior to these races. So Prescott should give the order for her to be going all out to achieve this on her seasonal debut.

Finally, if she does prove up to winning in either Listed or Group class Athenian will be doing no more than upholding family tradition as her dam did both when trained across the old Channel.

Athenian? It's all Greek to me.

Dodgy meat soup, salad, roll. A paltry 2/10.
