I'll be glad if he stays, I just can't get that excited over it. There was a feeling last season that this year's team would be the same + additions.

The one thing that this should show is that J-Rod has recovered well from the surgery, hence the board willing to tie him up long term.

Please Jay don't say If someone was to say that I'd end my career playing for Southampton in the Premier League then I'd snap your hand off for it :emoticon-0107-sweat

That was before our manager left us for dead, I guess on that note we should be thankful that he didn't try and harvest our players after doing so. We got more money for the players that have left because of the deals they signed so it's only a good thing. He's also not going to sign a contract and leave straight away, the start of next season is a long way away and a lot will depend on how we do in 14/15.

I don't think he can lay too much of the blame of contracts with Koeman. The board would have discussed this with Rodriguez's reps, as Koeman hasn't actually seen Jay Rod play in the flesh. Cork's situation, as we all keep saying, should have been resolved ages ago.

He's got a point. Cork and Fontes contracts are up sooner so would make more sense to get them signed up. Unless theey suspect an offer for J Rod is imminent and they want to tie him down quickly.

I would say the Rodriguez offer is a reaction to other clubs' interest, yes.

Wish the club would pull their bloody finger out. We don't need to make the coming season any more difficult.

I'm sure once Ron has assessed things Jack will get an offer. We could have sold him we had offers so Reed and co clearly wanted him to stay.

Adam Blackmore asked Koeman about contracts a week ago and he said he just hasn't had the time to deal with things like that.
Obviously, now he has begun to address those matters. All the J's first, hopefully.

I worked round jay's new house late last year in wellow and had the opportunity to have a bit of a chat with him.
He is very grounded and seems the least likely to have his head turned by a so called bigger club. (For what it's worth)
    Maybe not a lot o_O

According to a guy I know, Jay hit on his girlfriend, using the "I'm a pro footballer" line and even showed her his Wikipedia page to prove it.

Come on, a conversation with a girl at a club (if you can hear each other) usually features a 'what do you do for a living'. If you say pro-footballer it's more than likely that you'll be asked to prove that.

Well now you're just making your own things up about the story!

He wasn't in a club. He introduced himself to her in that way, they weren't having a conversation. According to a guy I know. Whose reliability is questionable.
