Transfer turmoil as Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino needs two out before he can make new signings Tottenham's summer dealings on hold as midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson and defender Michael Dawson are reluctant to leave White Hart Lane "Supremo Daniel Levy wanted to sell the pair for £15million to land new signings for new boss Mauricio Pochettino. Icelandic midfielder Sigurdsson is available for £10 million and teed up to go back to Swansea where he starred on loan two years ago. However Sigurdsson has told Tottenham he does not want to move and is keen to impress Pochettino - starting with the pre-season tour to America. Sigurdsson's departure would have seen Ben Davies and Michel Vorm heading for White Hart Lane in part exchange. Levy also faces a setback in the plan to let centre half Dawson go. He has been cleared to speak to Hull City but Dawson is refusing to leave in a £5million deal unless he gets a four-year contract with the Tigers. Hull have left it with Dawson to get a pay-off from Spurs, where he still has two years left on his contract but neither side are budging. Dawson's decision to dig in his heels has put a Tottenham bid for Nottingham Forest's Jamaal Lascelles on hold." - The Daily Mirror
Swansea City winger Pablo Hernandez close to move to Qatari club Al Arabi - according to reports Jul 14, 2014 09:37 By Chris Wathan "After being linked to a move to Michael Laudrup's SC Lekhwiya, Swansea' Spanish star Pablo Hernandez now looks set to join their rivals Al Arabi Pablo Hernandez could swap South Wales for the Middle East after the Swansea City star was claimed to be close to a move to Qatar. Spanish winger Hernandez has made it clear he wants to move away from the Liberty and was left behind from the club’s pre-season tour to the United States as interested parties eyed-up a move for the one-time record signing. The former Spain international, 29, had already been linked with a move to the Qatari league for a reunion with former Swans chief Michael Laudrup following his appointment at champions SC Lekhwiya, Laudrup having also bossed Hernandez at Getafe. But after the Dane’s agent, Bayram Tutumlu, insisted Laudrup was not interested in the 2012 £5.55m signing from Valencia, now reports in Hernandez’s homeland strongly suggest he is close to completing a move to the cash-rich Arab country with Al Arabi. Al Arabi are managed by former Chelsea and Romania defender Dan Petrescu and it has been claimed Hernandez has already travelled to Qatar to complete a medical. There are no suggestions what kind of fee Swansea are looking to recoup for the player. Hernandez has one year left of the three-year deal he signed upon his arrival at the Liberty Stadium and while has impressed at times during his South Wales spell, has seen his form hit by injuries and inconsistent form. Swans boss Garry Monk - who is trying to ship out Hernandez’s compatriots Jose Canas and Alejandro Pozuelo, while Michu looks set to wrap-up a loan move to Italian giants Napoli – had suggested he was hoping to keep hold of Hernandez after the wideman impressed when pushed into a more influential central role. But it is thought Hernandez has told the club he wishes to move on with Swansea happy to let some players go in order to make room for further signings. Hernandez’ exit could pave the way to complete a £4m deal to sign Ecuador’s World Cup wideman Jefferson Montero who is expected to become a Swan over the coming days."
**** mine someone else who doesnt want to come here. well best you stay where you are and at 10m i wouldnt want him. Terror we will be lucky to get somewhere near half of that.
Daily Mail claiming the bid for Hernandez is £4m. If true, with 1 year left on his contract, I'd take that...pays for his (hopefully replacement Montero). Even so, he will take some replacing! The man ripped Napoli apart. Was a travesty that we didn't manage to put some of those chances away and progress...surprised Napoli didn't come in for him as well as Michu to be honest. Thank-you Pablo. You were a pleasure to watch when you were on it....shame about the injuries. Will never forget the way Hernandez, Routledge, and Dyer tore West Brom a new one...was like watching Brazil '82, only better
"Swansea have held talks with Sturm Graz about 24-year-old Bosnia international midfielder Anel Hadzic. The move could see former Arsenal and Barnsley midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong move to Austria to replace Hadzic." - the Daily Mail
I don't understand this. If he's not injured and doesn't want to play for us then just sell. I'll ask mein Vater to pop over and check it out, he lives not too far from Graz!
A loan suggests to me that Napoli aren't convinced over his injury and a loan is just them being sensible in case he doesn't fully recover from it.
Why are we allowing this to happen. If he gets injured - we lose. If he stays fit and does ok, then he has a years less left on his contract and his value is decreased - we lose. The only benefit is he is off the wage bill for a year. Providing their are paying his wages. I could never understand why Vilareal allowed us to have JDG for 2 years.
It could be the only way to get rid of him as maybe nobody wants to rake the risk and buy him. If a player doesn't want to be here I'd rather he gets shipped out on loan if nobody will buy him rather than keep him and risk him becoming a negative burden on the squad etc.
You half Austrian? Not sure about signing someone called anal if I'm honest Perhaps he's meant as company for Besic....that's the one we need to get
