What a mind-numbing race, I sliced off my nipples just to feel something.

Erm, yes very much. But I must be the most cautious vettel fan, because I'm not saying it's over until I see 8-9 victories. He's got 6 wins, the next 3 races will give me closure or not.

The thing is, this happened in '06. Its not over. He hasnt won it. If you think he has won no matter what, stop watching maybe?

why should i stop watching?. I am still interested in who gets second. Vettels lead is over 3 victorys. It is over as far as first is concerned. The thing is there is not even a consistant second. Button was 6th today.

Alonso was roughly 3 wins ahead in '06 with 9 races left.
There is now 11 races left and Schumacher was with Alonso with 2 races left so he gained 25 points (on average nearly 4 points a race)
Maybe if he wins in Silverstone and Webber/Button are over 90 points behind, he has nearly guarenteed to win. But its not over until its over.

the only person good enough to challenge vettel imo is alonso problem is he is 100 pts behind and in a slower car. if ferrari can sort their car out we might get a mroe interesting second half of season. hopefully though vettel will keep winning races and smashing records

    youngest ever world champion
youngest ever double world champion ???
most pts ever in 1 season
    most poles
    most wins

    etc etc

    enough to keep me watching

Don't forget he's now the first man in history to finish in the top two at the first 8 grand prix's.

    The thing is that:

A: He is further ahead than Alonso was
B: there is no clear challanger. Webber is just to slow. While the other driver "only" 77 points is Button who if im honest i doubt both he and mclaren can maintan that over a season as much as i'd like them to. Alonso is 99 points. 1 point short of 4 wins behind. out of it. So Hamilton then. 89 points behind. not much better. It is a dire situation.

Vettel will become the most dominant driver in history this year.

That is true, it's 2010 all over again with people from 2nd to 5th in the championship, but 2002 with vettel. There's too many people trying to get to get in front of Sebastian and yet he keeps pulling away from the nearest rival.

I had trouble staying awake at times. the tv production was poor, missing most action - or the what seemed imminent.
Fewer 10 second examinations of the teams' backs - however at times that might have been preferable. This was just about the least enjoyable of the season.
Worst still I'll be in the Italian Lakes area instead of at Silverstone - must find a way of persuading the missus we should watch it.

genjii - well you all gave me some ideas- but she's fearsome when roused.
I imagine I'll plead 'I gave it up for you darling' and rely on pity.
