Sky Sports News ‏@SkySportsNews 2m Manchester United agree a kit deal with @adidas worth a minimum of £750million over 10 years from 2015/16 season. #SSN Worked around any FFP's in the future then Sponsorships becoming a joke? Thought ours were good, never mind this!
It's completely fair play financially, we are generating income as a brand and a company. City and Chelsea don't do that on our scale, they rely on handouts from stinking rich owners. We are rolling out a framework for how to operate and conduct business as a big club under new financial restrictions. The Glazer's have never put their own cash into United to pay wages or buy players. That's a beast of a deal, stick Chevrolet's £360m deal on top of that, then DHL, Audi, Hublot and that's what we've established as our brand grows year on year.
Dont get me wrong mate, there is nothing wrong with it financially Its incredibly clever by Utd and Adidas The problem is however that the divide between the clubs is increasing every year, the top 4 now are pretty much untouchable, then youve got a mini competition for europa league After that its basically whoever can finish highest in mid-table and the relegation battle Possibly why the relegation battle has became more interesting as the amount of teams included is larger than those who can win the title/be in the top 4
That's how it seems to be at the minute mate, nobody knows what's around the corner though, especially in England where Fifa and UEFA are desperate to bring us down.
Man U were on their arse with Big Ron at the Helm, Fergie built a brand through years of building and evolving a team. Now the brand is so big and Adidas is so big, it's an absolute business no brainer that they work together. Nowt dodgy about for me. Just two companies who know how to generate revenue combining to make more money. I would never put Man U in the same category as Chelsea or Man City when it comes to FFP piss taking.
