Not a very inspiring first 45 minutes that - on the back foot more often than not & very little threat up front...
Seeing the alternatives in the 1st half, to sell Deeney would be a folly in my opinion. Didn't see the 2nd half, but it doesn't sound as if our attacking formation is worked out yet.
2nd half was marginally better, but, worryingly, we seemed unable to cope with the Germans pressing us all over the field & forcing mistakes. Murray went off on crutches - not sure how serious, but he couldn't walk off, had to hop instead. About the only positive was another clean sheet - but even that was down to their poor finishing IMO.

Indeed! I had missed something! Big ask two games in two days and expect top performances at the same time. No goals is disappointing but I am sure we've had some big wins pre-season followed up by disappointment when the real thing comes along. I remain extremely optimistic about our chances this season.

Another (unsurprising) departure.... http://www.watfordfc.com/news/article/140718-faraoni-departs-1769046.aspx
"I coulda been someone, I coulda been a contender..." is the quote that springs to mind. If only he had a bit more of Doyley's attitude to accompany his undoubted skill. If he's learned from last season he'll serve our cousins well.
