http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...hester-United-not-consider-retiring-number-11 A lot of teams in europe do it after a club legend retires, in my opinion, we should retire the number 11 shirt but maybe some of you will disagree with me on that.
Following that theory we would have no numbers left Should we have retired the No 6 shirt for Duncan Edwards? Probably the greatest player at United who never reached his peak due to a tragedy No 7. Best, Cantona, Beckham,Bryan Robson, Ronaldo? On a personal basis I would not include Best, not because of his wonderful talents, but his playboy attitude to the club and Sir Matt brought embarrassment to the club, but each did more than enough to qualify for retirement No1. Peter Schmiechel, Edwin Van Der Saar, Alex Stepney? Sir bobby Charlton? Roy Keane, Nobby Stiles, Paddy Crerand, Paul Scholes, Gary Neville, Brucie, the list is endless To me, getting that shirt number gives the new player the kudos of wearing it by earning the right to wear it. Maybe it's the right time for Janusaj to step up and be given the no 11 shirt.
