Any one think Morgan and Lovren will be here at the end of the transfer window?

I agree that it would be difficult for him to come back but at the moment it's all words. Provided he reports for pre-season and puts in a shift and then shows when the season starts that he is at least professional on the pitch, then this can be forgotten.
An apology wouldn't go amiss either. He will not be a fans favourite ever again, but fans will always respect great players. I don't like Suarez but I had to admire the quality of his football.

Couldn't have put it better, if he doesn't want to be here then just let him go. I've got no doubts that Big Ron (a top international CB) would find a suitable replacement and probably make a profit too.

Bit bored this morning, so thought i'd round up our left back links. See who people would prefer

    Timothee Kolodziejczak (nickname Kolo)

French, 22 years old, OGC Nice

He began his career at Lyon, but only made 12 appearances before signing for Nice in 2012
For Nice he has played 64 times in two seasons and has got one goal.
He has represented France at a national level on a consistent basis throughout his youth career, I have no idea if he is a serious contender for the national squad

    Pablo Armero

    Colombian, 27 years old, Napoli

After making close 150 appearances in South American football Pablo moved to Udinese in 2010. In his first season he played as a wing back in 3-5-2 and made Serie A team of the year in 2010-11. He made 69 appearances over three years at Udinese before joining Napoli on loan and making the switch permanent in 2013. He only made substitute appearances for Napoli at the start of last season and went to West Ham on loan in January. He only made 5 appearances for West Ham.

He has played for the Colombian national team since 2008 and has over 50 caps.

    Jetro Willems

    Dutch, 20 years old, PSV

He joined PSV in 2011 and has made 74 appearances in three seasons and has scored 5 goals
He was part of the Dutch u17 team which won the Euro championships in 2011, since then he has been fast tracked to the senior side and became the youngest ever player to feature in the European championships in 2012. He has made 11 senior appearances for the Netherlands.

    Andrew Robertson

Scottish, 20 years old, Dundee Utd

Started his senior career at Queens Park in 2012 and was a virtual ever present with 34 appearances and 2 goals before moving to Dundee Utd in 2013. A similar story at Dundee as he went straight into the 1st team and made 36 appearances scoring 3 times. Robertson won young player of the year in Scotland and made the SPL team of the year.
He made the senior Scotland side earlier this year.

    Ben Davies

    Welsh, 21 years old, Swansea

Made his senior debut for Swansea in 2012 and due to an injury to Neil Taylor has been a close ever present for the last two seasons making 71 appearances and finding the net three times. Has 10 caps for Wales

    Edit: Added Ben Davies

I would have either Willems or Armero. They would be my preferences.

Willems of those. Think Ben Davies would be my #1 target.

I'm not really too surprised by Lovren and he left Lyon pretty swiftly when it was clear than Remi Garde could not reverse the fortunes of this club who, in some respects, mirror Southampton in that it is perceived that the club can go no further. In the circumstances, Lovren must have been sold a good reason for joining Saints and with the departure of Shaw, Lallana and Lambert you can appreciate why he might be let down. That said, I think he is also naïve insofar that the appointment of Koeman is indicative that the club has ambition and wishes to press forward. The curious thing for me is that the departure of Suarez and the rebuilding at Man Utd is suggestive to me that Liverpool will struggle to get a top four position next season so I would be amazed if a more to Anfield would give Lovren the European football he deserves.

The article in the blog was interesting and raised some good points, not least the fact that the rumours have emanated from papers which do not enjoy a good journalistic reputation. I do agree that Lovren should not have made a comment about his head being in Liverpool but share the doubt as to whether this comment is genuine.

So you don't think he said it? I think hints that he has given on his instagram etc proves he did.

    Added to the list.

Not seen a proper transfer link to Willems, but other than Armero they're all early 20s with a decent career behind them and a fledgling international future.

Davies has the prem experience and probably the least of a gamble but will cost the most. I quite like the look of Robertson, but we might want to sign an Armero type experienced player alongside him

I'd like Davies or Robertson or both. Getting bored of waiting for Targett.

How long does it take to age nowadays?

You only have to look at Danny Ings to know we have the technology to speed up the ageing process

    Get on with it Saints!

It's been "he's right behind Shaw" and "not quite ready yet but will be" for a couple of years now.

He is ready to be back up now and to play first team games. He is just not ready for a whole season you moany bastard :p. Every player takes different times to mature enough for first team footy. Shaw was unique.

It'd be quite funny if he turned out to be better than Luke though.
