If I were going to guess prices: Jay Rodriguez: £18m Alberto Moreno: £16m Ben Davies: £10m Lazar Markovic: £20m Dejan Lovren: £20m Michel Vorm: £6m Divock Origi: £10m That's £100m. Guess that would mean around the £135m mark including the trio we've already signed and excluding Bony
No and no, we made a mistake paying £25m for Lallana, don't want to make another mistake spending £18m for Rodriguez.
Of course mate, just hope we aren't stupid enough to offer money like that for either Rodriquez or Bony.
We wouldn't be stupid enough to spend £18m on Rodriguez! We might as well go for Danny Ings from Burnley for £7m if we're going to go for someone like that. Not that I want either I might add.
Given the choice between those two, I'd rather have Jay but that's also dependant on his rectory too.
FFS See out of the two, for £18m I'd rather have Bony as he offers something we don't have and is more proven. Plus I don't really want to end up giving Saints £50m with potentially another £20m for Lovren
Serious question, how much did you know about James before the World Cup? I have done a quick (very quick) scan through all the boards (not just Liverpool) and can`t find anyone suggesting him as a transfer target prior to June.
I knew of him. Knew of him after his massive move to Monaco along with Falcao and Moutinho. Must admit hadn't seen him play as don't watch and French football and Monaco not being in the CL but had heard he had good stats. Was never a transfer target for us (and I'd never suggested him) as we simply couldn't afford him considering they paid £40m for him 1 year ago. Only reason I mention him there is because he has the same name as Saints player
Knew of him, knew he was a talent, knew he went from Porto to Monaco for a huge fee. Only seen him when at Porto in their European games. Given that he only moved last summer for the big fee didn't consider anyone would be in for this summer, especially since he's only been playing in the French league. He'll end up at Real next summer anyway, probably for a world record fee.
I think we can put that one down to predictive text i said Jay because he is more mobile, able to play more than one position and he fits our style.
I just don't think he's very good. Mid table quality. Bony on the other hand is much more established and offers more of a goal threat. Still wouldn't want either really though
Fair play I just think he may end up like many World Cup "stars", a dud. He plays in the French League and even there he hasn`t pulled up many trees.
9 goals and 12 assists last year from creative midfield role. Not too bad for a 22 year old. Kids got talent no doubt. Moving to Madrid while Ronaldo/Bale are still their in their prime might dent him though. Much like Isco, the guy was awesome at Malaga and needed to stay and develop for another season or two but instead went to Madrid and had to play 2nd fiddle to the rest of their expensive forward/midfielders.
I knew of him but didn't think he was worth £40m. Has a three in one goal record which is pretty good for a midfielder though.
