Well it was no coincedence that the game after the Liverpool one was Valencia's comeback game against Arsenal in the Cup (though Nani didn't start) though I have just looked at the remaining games after the Liverpool one in the remaining games Valencia played 16 and Nani played 15. Both started 11 of them. Nani got 1 assist and no goals while Valencia got 2 goals and 3 assists. Not great stats from either of them but Nani fizzled out towards the end, which is not what you want. As I said Valencia was coming back from a career threatening injury but he did brilliant to get back like normal. You cannot judge a player on one game (CL Final) and just like last seasons Community Shield I think Valencia will get the nod instead. I also think Young will be prefered to on the left.
GK - De Gea, Kuszczak*, Lindegaard, Amos FB - Evra, Rafael, Fabio CB - Vidic, Rio, Smalling, Jones, Evans FB/CB - O'Shea*, Brown* CM - Carrick, Anderson, Fletcher, Gibson*, Cleverley* CM/WM - Giggs, Park WM - Nani, Valencia, Young, Obertan* CF - Rooney, Hernandez, Berbatov, Owen, Welbeck*, Macheda*, Diouf* *might be sold/go on loan We've got quality players in every position but CM is still the problem area. Every CM we have is decent but limited and no combination of two fills me with confidence. We have quality coming through but next season is too soon for the likes of Pogba and Morrison to make an impact so I'm still looking for the big signing in midfield. We look a bit light at FB as well. Maybe Evans will become the new O'Shea!!
