A new season predictor league

A few have mentioned that they may want to see an ongoing predictor league for the new season.
There's a few options I think to deliver/continue some of the fun and banter from JPF's WC predictor....

We can have a full blown full PL fixture type game.. the kind of thing you will see on several other boards.... or maybe look at something like the one I do down the local boozer.
It's just the three NE teams and on Derby day, the other 'game of the day' brought in to bring the predictions up to 3 once again.
The scoring is the same as JPF's (1 point for correct prediction... boosted to 3 for a correct score prediction).

What's your thoughts guys.. what would you like to see?

 

Yeah we have to really!

I don't mind either way but i would probably just do PL games on a Saturday/Sunday. Scratch the mid week/Monday games as people will forget.

 

Definitely agree this would be good. Full blown version if possible but depends on if JPF is prepared to lend his girlfriend out to Sir Alan as suggested by Sir Alan to give JPF more time.



Plus due to my somewhat unexpected demise I still have a number of "speeches" ready in the locker for the "big" games.

 

I'd much prefer a full blown version - adds to the unpredictability and fun.

I appreciate this is a lot of work, and as he doesn't seem keen on sending Mrs JPF out on a loan, so how about its done in such a way that a few different people could put in the graft? JPF could set it up pre-season along with week 1 (if he wants), and then someone else could do a new thread for week 2 and update the points etc, someone else week 3.

 

Maybe even keep it on one thread and I could edit post 1 with the league table each week.

 

Sorry, I thought you were going to suggest turns for Mrs JPF so that all the effort didn't fall on one person.

 

I believe that under FIFA rules you can't play with, I mean for, more than three different teams in 12 months - I might be wrong though.

 

That would be great if you and JPF were happy with that, but wouldn't that mean you and JPF had to do all the graft instead of sharing it out though?

I just wanna finish the World Cup game and then die in a hole somewhere quietly!

 

In theory anyone could pop up the latest fixtures in the first instance or in terms of collating scores anyone could do the math and just PM either a mod or JPF (any of whom can edit post 1 if JPF originates a thread). Should be fairly simple.
The other option is a seperate thread stickied for the league table and one for an individual week but that would create a bit more of a ballache and also quite a few sticky threads.
I reckon a simple one like the one JPF did for the WC with a few lads chipping in with the editing of post 1 would be enough and keep things nice and simple.
