    You'll like this Leonardo.

I see where you're coming from but I think it was about whatever we could get for him leaving (even if only 100K extra - that's a lot of money to us for just a piece of paper).
I wholeheartedly agree that fans are not considered important these days - it's business first I'm afraid.
I think GT was party to what is inevitable in football these days and understood it for what it was.
We will never know the truth - did GT ask MM to sign so the club could get something for him if he left? We'll never know. We'll have to agree to disagree on the 'devious and dishonest', personally I cant have that as we agree - we'll never know.

As for how the contract news was delivered, the media will have their twist on it. Burnley is at best a sideways move, Cardiff is a city club, large following and with money (even if it's from Uncle).

I'd rather think better of MM before I think badly of him. He did play for us. He has been with us for a while, stuck with us when times we bad. Perhaps Bassini was the last straw and Cardiff offer arrived at that opportune time - as we said, we'll never know.

I would also like to apologise for my 'final comment'. I felt provoked, but I went too far and I'm sorry.

No need to apologise - but thanks anyway - we were both out of order yesterday and let a useful discussion go bad. The good thing about this Watford Board though is that even unpleasant disagreements seem to get resolved in the end - I think we are fundamentally not a bad lot.

In the grand scheme of things with Baz putting up millions I don't think £100k would be enough for a complicated manouevre but we will probably never know and as it is speculation we can agree to differ. The Ollie Phillips explanation seems to me more likely if MM really did intend to stay in March - once he had worked with Baz for a while he maybe realised he could not - if that was the case I could forgive MM (like he wants my forgiveness :) ) as he would then have tried to be good to us but failed. Hard as it must be (for anyone on here who can see that nothing angers me) to believe but I have left a job in the past when I realised I could not work in the environment that a particualr boss was creating
