no thanks.. i want the new german star like kroos (over priced) schweinsteiger (too old not) or martinez (non german i know) I don't want an undisciplined child like yaya.
Don't get me wrong. I said they hadn't been successful (yet). Doesn't mean that they been outright failures either...although some have. But then, some always are. Personally, i'm secretly hoping that Reina stays to show Migs how to distribute a ball and command his box. We need a world class keeper and unfortunately, right now at least, I don't think it's him. Sakho could be good, sure, but does look just as prone to errors as any of our other CB's (except Toure...he's much more error prone . ilori, I can't comment on. The rest were pants.
Rmours of Arsenal bidding for Khedira, anything in the range of £20m-£30m. Surely we should be in on that? Or is it just Bertrand and Bony left on our list....
you said "I see last year signings, maybe apart from Mignolet, as unsuccessful." thats not the same but thats me nit picking. Its fine to say they have not been successful yet but in the end coutinho and sturridge have made a huge impact and got us where we are with a great year from suarez. The others can step it up. I feel firmly that the next level of success for LFC will only be achieved by forgetting about an ultra successful year in front of goal and accepting we are not firing in 100 goals next year so the defence must be meaner and we must be more tactically mature and solid not panic at a set back. In short we've seen numerous occasions from our team where panic sets in and if players do a luiz and run off doing their own thing (and i mean gerrard who simply refused after slipping to stand in his role again) again well we won't get anywhere. We need more clean sheets and a lot less 2 and 3 goal conceeded stats. Do that and win the games v the bottom half home and away? we'll do well. I am not going to put all my eggs in the can basket though.
i seriosuly doubt bony is on our list as he doesn't fit the model at all... lambert and sturridge are actually similar in holding it up. I think if you take a suarez out you need to find a different type of player to insert.. bony... he's not that good.. he just isn't. Khedira turned down reals offer. therefore speculation. It is obviosu he'd greatly help arsenal but i do feel as a german there are two things here. 1. is the right money on the table. they really are quite mercenary the germans. 2. Is he not happy with reals value of him per ozil. He could be simply feeling real value alonso and Spanish players higher and don't give the respect.
Possibly, but we are standing still whilst others strengthen greatly and move forward. I think we will seriously struggle for top 4 at this rate. City and the chavs obviously have great squads and have strengthened further, Arsenal are getting a squad of that quality too and utd post Moyes and with some key signings. Its just all very concerning. I do have confidence in the likes of Sterling being a star player this season for us and personally think he should target 15 goals over the campaign. After that though, we are very much the same team, just with a massive bite taken out of us by losing the best player in the league.
ermmm... no we are not. 1. city... who've they bought? not too much to add to what they have. 2. cheslea.... costa.. yeah he might improve it we'll see. fabreglass? don't see how selling mata and adding him improves things but i suppose its replacing lampard. again they've so many similar that it just throws it on the pile. 3. arsneal.. sanchez? where is their forward. whey've lots of guys i nthe same role but still stiker issue... they've not got khederia btu they are good 4. Utd? seriousy they buy shaw who doesn't really improve over evra bar its about age.. herraera is a buy long touted but can he alone be so worrying? The others are rumours c'mon stand still we have got to deal with suarez. we all ahve to you and me included so I'm very happy its getting done. we have bought 3 players in and have links to two more and a host of rumours but we are standing still?
So are you saying lallana is a bad signing because you don't agree on the price we paid? Regardless if he plays well
no I'm merely stating that as of today we've way over paid for the player, nothing more. Thats all that can be said of the trasnfer as of today before he's even set foot at training. It may have materially affected our ability to strengthen elsewhere prior to the suarez sale but now it just is a question of value. Can, ilori, origi and even borini should all appreciate in value. lallana in 3 years time might be sold for 12mil max... the hope obviosuly is not same as the young lads.. you always hope they are 10 year players who will do fantastic.
my bad....I think you know what i mean though Am totally with you on getting more balance to the team. Especially without our extra 'bite' up front!
This is tough to call. We won something like 7 out of 8 without Suarez last year. That said, he's a major loss and would be to any team. Our signings, i'm sure, will improve our quality all over the pitch EXCEPT up front....Until we kick off the season, I have no idea if we have made progress or not.....but then again, who else will?
This also concerns me TBH. You missed Toure out Plus, I'd put Alberto and Ilori in the same bracket; both were bought with a view to loaning them out. Agree about Can. PS...#racism
Yep. Overpaying obviously isn't great but it as absolutely no relevance to performance; something a few of you may remember me getting annoyed about with Carroll and the need "but for £35m" comments we kept seeing.
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is planning to limit Steven Gerrard's first-team appearances next season in a bid to keep the 34-year-old captain fit until the end of the campaign. Daily Mail
i blocked out toure. i was going, hmm i've missed one here then went a f it i'm too lazy to think hard to look it up.... I can't put ilori and alberto in the same group as ilori has no evidence to say if he can or can't yet but alberto in my eyes simply doesn't have the game to play the prem so looks to me like we are hoping he gives a great season on loan to just recoup the fee. Ilori is just unknown and his loan was too short to judge so I need to see more evidence. right now can could well be said bargain but if he's not I have a feeling that given his experience level that we won't have any trouble reselling fro the same fee or higher therefore i feel the value is very good.. now i'll wait and actually see him in our shirt and see if he delivers. I am of course hopeful but i feel the trio will be gerrard lallana and Henderson day one and can will play his way in over the first 3-6 months. If he delivers instantly its beyond expectations we can rightfully have imo.
About time. But... who is going to replace him? Given that some of his talents are irreplaceable, does the system change?
