Reading most of the papers today and it says rangers are not going to bid 3 million for cuellar wtf is going on at ibrox atm. How much money do we actually have to spend as all were being doing is trying to sign bosmans and cheap bids for players sign some quality players.
It seems little has changed as far as trying to get bargains is concerned.Pisses me off sometimes but i guess we have to avoid getting ourselves in the **** again. For me £3M for Cuellar is a no brainer but Ally and CW must have different ideas
Maybe the budget quoted included wages. It was care free spending that got you in the brown stuff last time so they are probably right to be cautious. It's early doors anyway so they are right not to show their hand straight away.
Just cos there's money to spend doesn't mean you go about spending it willy nilly (yes I just said willy nilly ) It's the same in any sort of money transaction, if someone gives their price and you just hand over that amount without trying to haggle them down then you're a ****ing mug. You try to get the best deal possible
1882 There trying to get a good deal and theres ****ing it up by trying to be cheapskates. We are getting very close to being branded cheapo's when Cardiff ****ing City are beating us to players.
It is getting frustrating, however I do agree with the comments that bargaining with clubs needs to be done. If we happen to lose out on Goodwillie and Cuellar though I wont be happy, both could do a real job. If Danns chooses elsewhere it might be a sign that Ally doesn't know what to say to persuade players to come to the club or that players don't fancy the idea of playing under an inexperienced manager. But, I am not bothered too much right now . . . we STILL have the best squad of players in the country regardless, more depth is all we need!
Its as if ally and whyte want to spend all there money in the pound store. You have to spend to upgrade the squad just hope they realise it before we lose out on a few good players over a haggle of money.
I don't understand the surprise. Whyte said you'd have 5 million a year for 5 years, when you need to rebuild an ageing squad and you have a budget of only 5 mill then of course you are gonna have to buy on the cheap.
I think we should give them time maybe they are testing the water with the bids made and bluffing over Cuellar, however as it's been said it will be extremely frustrating if we lose out him and Goodwillie and something that could dent our title challenge before the season starts.
Actually this is interesting, I've just read the Mail online and it claims Rangers aren't going to bid £2mil just yet for Goodwillie as they are still in talks with bringing back Kenny Miller as well as waiting on Blackpool selling Charlie Adam?
this article reminds me of the scene from 2001 a space odyssey when the chimps learn to use tools by striking the bones.
supposedly, Scott Carson going to Bursapor is quoted as saying Kenny Miller sold him on the move and loves it there... I hate transfer window time and paper talk, suually all pish
I would say this year especially - transfers will be scrutinized and the board will be financially strict. Remember, this is the first year for Whyte - he will be using this year to better aquaint himself with his new business. I really do like our new owner, despite his nervousness on camera, he seems like a very intelligent indevidual. I'm sure he'll do a good job when he is more settled.
