Wow what a race and what a memorable weekend. Could this be the race like Japan 2012 for Alonso where it all changed for Lewis? I certainly hope so!
Seems the 30 viewers we had the other day were just here to see the argument and not contribute. And your point is so true.
no, but if one of them had been as whiney as Alonso is then it probably would have, lets face it he's a 'tactical whiner' and Vettel just responded because he remembers Monza when he got penalised for doing what Alonso did to him the year before simply because Alonso cried about it down the radio and he didn't. Cue sunday and Alonso whining about stuff it's very doubtful he saw, Vettel has to respond, everyone has to when it comes to Alonso, otherwise he'll pass them while they're serving an Alonso whine penalty for 5 seconds in the pit.
Why do people want punishment for things all the time? Punishment for racing, punishment for crashing, punishment for swapping out a thingmabob... There'll be punishment for flatulence now they can hear it over the engines.
They've trapped themselves into a corner unfortunately. If people get let off for stuff now, then people who've been punished will complain, if they kick up enough of a fuss, then surely a penalty would have to be enforced? It's a no win scenario.
I'm not saying I want a punishment for everything. I'm just saying that if they're punishing one, they should punish another. Raikkonen never gets penalties and he's been having some of the worst offenses in recent years.
Gotcha. I just feel there's too many penalties sometimes and they just need to back off a bit. I hate penalties for racing and all this fuss of who went off track here and there because of ridiculous runoffs. Not sure how they fix that other than getting some strips of gravel just off circuit to punish it naturally. Battles aren't just battles anymore, they get clouded by where the limits of the track and limits of defending are.
Miggins you are a ****ing star mate, love the disclaimer, just brilliant. Been away for a couple of days had to go over and sort the Germans out !!!
Yep, put back gravel traps etc. If all tracks were lined with 3 feet of grass, like Silverstone is in most places, drivers will know that if they go off they have to come back on at a reduced speed. All of this running off track and not losing time will be a thing of the past. The circuits are being made too easy for the drivers.

Finally watched the race Some pretty big gaps in the field but plenty of battles throughout, not a bad race to be honest, enjoyable enough please log in to view this image

If somebody could hook up the German race thread, that would be great. I am away. Thanks in advance. And thanks BLS for doing it on previous occasions. Sharing the work load
I could be tempted to do it tomorrow, but feel free to jump in anyone In the meantime (and in record time?) the Silverstone race edit: http://www.formula1.com/video/?uid=2014070609R
