Sterling Markovic? If you're counting Borini as one you need to include them as they're wide forwards.
Borini is a forward that can play other attacking roles, the other two a prominently wingers that can play as a forward.
I agree. We don't seem to be using the CL card very well. I think even Markovic could have been bought without CL. We don't seem to be very ambitious in our targets. I fear for us in the CL being to naive. However with the World Cup and holidays ending and players switching back to club duties we might see more movement in the transfer market. We could also be waiting for closer to the end of the window, when the better players get cheaper as they force their way out of clubs.
So we've had a 6million bid rejected for Ryan f**ing Bertrand, As Chelsea want 8million. Bony, Davies, Bertrand, a f**ing overpriced 'potential' from Portugal WTF is going on! I was genuinely excited when BR came out and said this early May http://www1.skysports.com/football/...er-brendan-rodgers-wants-quality-not-quantity His dealing so far seem completely contradict his own statement.
Fine, if you really insist then we only have Studge, Lambert and potentially Bony then ya mardy bellend
Borini played as the central striker in the COC final against City. He had a good game and scored a goal.
Thing is, didn't Brod say we'd only be looking to recruit three or four this summer too? Lambert and Lallana have already arrived, will it be Markovic and one other? If so, we are going to be short in two areas since we need a LB, DM and a Suarez replacement.
He said 5 or 6. I think the deals and strongest rumours do add up. Rodgers said before he wanted two wide men, last summer we bif for Willian, in January we big for Salah and Konoplyanka. We have signed Lallana who can play there and we have been strongly liked to Markovic. Sterling's rise in form may have changed Rodgers mind on two wide men though. Lallana can also add creativity in the middle whilst still being strong defensively, becoming a stronger alternative to Coutinho and Allen. Another striker who suits our style and scores goals was clearly a good idea, but they would only be backup so Rodgers would not have wanted to break the bank. In comes Lambert. Good deal. Our midfield clearly needed a muscle man at times last season but we did not have one available. Enter Emre Can. So that is 3 signings in. Markovic would make it 4. We had Cissokho loan loan last season after we failed to sign a permanent LB, so that is obviously important again this summer. Moreno. 5 signings. Ignore the Bertrand talk. 6 could be a center back. ---- The extra's. Origi will go on loan and is a signing for the future. So he would not be one of the 6 players coming in next season. Suarez will need replacing, that could take 1 or maybe two players.
good summery flappy just hope the 2 to replace luis are proper quality ( end of world cup may see more things happening or when players return) and not the ok to good type that we have so far targeted or got (well my opinion) whats the score with lb, are we going for Moreno, or is Brendan now targeting a back up option to enrique? (i do hope that's not the case) but we have been linked to ****E
I read direct quotes saying three or four. However, we all know Brod loves his own voice and changes his mind more often than his players numbers! And yes, I forgot about Can too. So that's three already signed with Moreno, Lovren and Markovic heavily linked plus a few others circulating about the media rumours. To say we have CL football, that is poor IMO
Spend our £30m wisely please log in to view this image Bony is a good player btw, £20m is probably about right for him
I said at last year, we need another "option" off the bench... Bony would have been a decent shout towards the end of our game against Chelsea when we started to go long, bloody powerful in the air, holds the ball up well.. BUT for person that won't be a regular starter, thats a lot of cheese... Then again 16+ goal strikers in the PL don't come cheap!
classic arsenal.. offers 30 and gives us a 50...wengerface or no oops. anyone rating wilfrd bony at more over 10mil... well you're nuts sorry but you are...
Similar can be said for Lallana at £5m, Shaw at £31m and Lovren at £20m+. Well played Southampton though <appluase>
