HE WATCHED the Dutch last night Playing for Man U, Van Gaal is Man U's new manager. Transfer of tactics from International to club level
Yeah, but the French have been **** for Evra's entire international career and Holland, despite being as dull as they were, would still be an improvement on that team
No And let's buy a ****ing defender already, or at least be linked Wumming Southampton with a fake Lovren bid doesn't count
TBF I dont generally believe the prices that get quoted. I do not believe we payed as much as the press say we did for Lallana.
The figures quoted will be top end will achievements met. But then, we'd prefer to pay the full amount anyway since it would mean the players been a success.
to do what ... assassinate him cos he's a total donkey to my eyes.. ok decent but i just think he's got a good dig but he's not even a 10mil player, no way!
You're calling that wrong imo. He was the best front man I saw at Goodison last season tbf. Ran us ragged. I'd take him in a heartbeat
Bony is a good player but that's a lot of money. He's very much a one position type of player as well so would go against our normal type
Thing is, he'd suit Everton too though. You play with a target man, Lukaku did it brilliantly for you last year and Bony can do a similar job. We don't play with a main guy up top. we play with freedom letting the front guys interchange. Having Bony sat there not only stops that happening but also reduces the space for others to exploit. He wouldn't be a good fit for us other than a impact player should we need to change things.
What was the point in qualifying for the CL? Honest answer - Do you lads think any of the players we've signed so far, for the prices we've paid, we couldn't of got without CL football? Only one that is debatable is Marcovic. Not saying we've signed a lot of **** (time will tell), just thought we'd try to tap in to that CL exclusive market.
You've already bought Lambert....... We don't play with a target man anyway, just a focal point of the attack, there's a distinct difference, but I agree he'd be ideal for us. You adapted your shape to incorporate both Sturridge and Suarez and to allow for Gerrards lack of mobility. With Suarez gone you'll be forced to change your shape, back to a more conventional 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1
I wasn't talking about shape, I was talking about style. Brod likes players that can play in more than one position. the reason for that is not just to make it easier to change things during games, it is also about giving players freedom when attacking to roam about and interchange with others making it harder for the opposition to mark and/or keep a defensive structure. With a playing such as Bony in there, things become a bit more static due to his area of play being so restricted. Fair shout with Lambert but then, that just adds to my argument that signing him doesn't fit us
It's odd as we have lambert as that central striker who is different to our current options. If we get Bony as well then it just seems a very odd price of business.
It could also mean that Rodgers has identified the need to adapt and that he's going to need a brace of central strikers....... I was told yesterday he was coming to Anfield for around £20m, fact or fiction? we'll see.
Maybe. We do lack forwards but his potential arrival (assuming Suarez and Aspas do go as expected) leaves us with Studge, Lambert, Bony and Borini, hardly terrifying is it
