They breached his contract. Not our concern; and we're not a charity.

This is going to open a can of worms.
In an ideal world - yes we should.
If the club does, it is good publicity for the club - showing that one of the PL clubs (and an FA Cup finalist) does care about clubs lower down the pyramid system.
But if we had been in that situation a number of years ago, would another club have paid us compo - and I suppose that would have depended on the club concerned.
Would any other PL club pay Hereford a penny?
And is there a sell-on clause in the contract? Another thing to consider, and what percentage would be deemed fair?

It doesn't sit easy for me that we picked him up for free. The same has happened to us.

Didn't we do something similar with aluko? I know it was a tax issue with rangers but we still gained on another teams misfortune! It's dog eat dog when it comes this sort of thing! Also Bruce did us good and proper with turner!

On reflection, he probably didn't, I reckon £4m was about the right price for Turner.

Did we really get that though? I thought it was less.

That's the fee they paid, we didn't get all of it, there were sell-on clauses that resulted in about £1.2m going to Brentford.

I can still hear the "turner for England" I think we was robbed myself, I know he maybe didn't push on from there but he was worth a lot more then 4 mil.
