Let's not get ahead of ourselves, Cottager. I'm delighted with this signing as well, but let's not forget that we were all just as happy when we signed Salcido, and the signing of Riise met with almost universal acclaim too. He's precisely the kind of player we should be signing, but lets see whether or not he delivers before we get too pleased with ourselves. Left back is a position that has given us a lot of false dawns in the last few years. Cautious optimism, I think, is the order of the day.
As I think was expected Pajtim Kasami has gone to Olympiacos. Don't know the details of the deal but the strong rumour is that it was 'in lieu' of what we still owed them for Mitroglou - about £6m. But that's speculation of course.
Can anyone remember what we are thought to have paid for Kasami? I think it was roughly what Cottager says Olympiakos are giving us back. If that's right, it's good that we've not made a loss, but I can't help but feel we could have done better with him, both in terms of what he did on the pitch and in terms of transfer fee. Oh well, onwards and upwards.
I think we paid about £5m for Kasami. Considering that no one really knows (after several years) what his actual position is makes this a decent sale, all told.
I thought we paid £3.5 million for him, if we have got 5-6 for him that will be a good deal, just need to get £5 mill for Ruiz and 3-4 for Stek and our net transfer spend will only be about three million, if we offload Mitroglu as well we will actually be in a profit this summer and reduced the wage bill by a ridiculous amount
That's about right Cookie - depending on the Euro rate. And here's the Happy Chappy: please log in to view this image Link to pic: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BsG9TABIQAElLza.jpg
I was thinking more of a younger version of Nicky Shorey. Oh, no, hang on, it's Kay Voser that's 5' 5". Yeah, I know what you're saying Captain and the fact that he's on loan with an option to buy suggests we need to be convinced. Still it is a while since we've had a natural left back, so here's hoping.
Rumours that Trabsponzer want Mitroglu for €8 million (£7 million) would be a bit of a hit but may be worth considering, if Ruiz and Stek get sold as well at least we will have a net profit this window
Just seen on Twitter that we've signed Mattias Kait, a young 16 year old Estonian striker. http://Instagram.com/p/qPIz0PrkJR/ One for the future
Richardson is apparently off to Aston Villa. Set to have a medical within the next 24 hours. Not surprising really.
Disappointing if Richardson leaves. I thought he might have the character/loyalty to stick around. At this rate, only Parker & Hugo will be on Premiership wages.
That's really not good news. The usual undisclosed fee is quoted. He's said to have been influenced by Villa's assistant manager, Roy Keane, from his Man Utd days. Good luck to him on that. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...-Villa-to-sign-Fulhams-Kieran-Richardson.html It does mean of course that we are becoming desparately short on experience and particularly in the left midfield/wing half position
We can't keep the players if they don't want to stay... Richardson had a good season and was hoping he would stay. Kaca's big moment if he survives the fitness regime. Actually Magath might toughen him up a bit! Also don't forget we have Bryan still! My fear is that Dejagah will be next...
With Richardson leaving I think it's important to keep Dejagah unless we get a stupid offer for him, he sounds like he might be up for staying wasn't he quoted along the lines of " I'm not sure what's going to happen I'm very happy at Fulham but not in the championship right now I'm just concentrating on the World Cup"! I would sit hi. Down ask him to give us one big season where he is a regular starter and promise to let him leave if we don't go up!
Another centre forward! Strikers: Moussa Dembélé (17), Cauley Woodrow (19), Adam Taggart (22), Ross McCormack (27), Kostas Mitroglou (27), Hugo Rodallega (28), and now Mattias Kait (16) Although I guess there there is less competition at the U18 level these days.
I see Bertrand the Chelsea defender wans a move, the sum of 5/6m is being quoted, it may seem an ambitious move to bid, but with the likelihood of 3 of our high priced wage earners going and swelling the transfer pot we have got to re invest in some established names, if we wish to become a Zebadee next season
I'm presuming that Felix's idea of playing him at left back against East Fife was to toughen up his defending.
I think having signed Stafylidis we are unlikely to splash this much on another left back. I'd love to get Bertrand but I reckon there'll be suitors in the Premier League.
That's a bit harsh. Lots of people moaned when we signed him, but he turned out to be one of the plus points of last season. I was hoping he'd stay, but I don't think you can blame him for going. It's entirely possible that the club have told him they would prefer to get his premier league salary off the wage bill, given his age and the fact that he's not a guarenteed starter. Just because he's leaving it doesn't necessarily mean that he's doing anything wrong.
I hope for Richardson's sake that Villa aren't planning on using him as a left back. If they are then you'd have to worry about their defence if they lose Vlaar and play Senderos.
