I wonder if we will see any more in's before Koeman's first press conference on Friday?

 

I wouldn't be adverse. He's no less of a risk for me than someone like Pelle, but comes with significantly more upside. That's particularly true if not penciling him in as an out-and-out striker means that we'd be getting Ings plus Wickham plus someone else and mixing and matching...could put together some rather interesting lineups.

 

And Vlaar is out of contract next year. Villa might cash in.

 

Wickham scored some goals, but i'm just not sold on him and his overall game. His age compared to Pelle would make him the better of the two if i had to chose

Would prefer Forster over Marshall and the price sounds a lot more reasonable. Have only seen Van Dijk a couple of times for Celtic, but he stood out as a positive presence so I would be happy if we got this double swoop over the line.

If the very worst thing ever happened EVER and we lost Schneiderlin then Clasie looked good in his cameo today. I'm sure he'll have suitors from elsewhere but he looked a very good passer and alongside Big Vic he wouldn't have huge defensive responsibilities and we would need someone in midfield with a good passing range. Koeman may think JWP or Reed could step up mind

 

Apparently when Wickham signed for Sunderland he thought he'd made it and coasted. Now he's knuckled down (and bulked up), he's starting to fulfill his potential. But I agree with previous comments, he needs to prove it over a whole season. We rallied every year under B***foot and were still piss poor the next. Sunderland could still be terrible next year and him with them.

 

Koeman's just tweeted about Vlaar. The Daily mail will have a field day from that.

Beefy, my comments about Caulker were made having read the article in The Mirror off NewsNow website posted at 22.33pm where he expresses his wish to join Liverpool ahead of anyone else
He probably sees CL football with a club throwing cash around like confetti and thinks he would like some of the feeding frenzy

I would take Wickham for sure, have we even been linked with him though or is this another "We should sign..." Soccer Manager style remark?

I think Wickham would be a good player for us, but if we are to sign Ings then we'd have a pretty inexperienced front line considering Jay Rod is out until October time. I'd certainly have Wickham over Pelle if they're the options. Haven't seen Van Dijk but the reaction on here seems fairly positive towards him so a swoop for him and Forster would be welcomed. As good as Vlaar was last night I think we could find someone better and younger, for example De Vrij, but I'm not sure if he is a realistic target.

Seems quite a few Villa fans are hoping to cash in on Vlaar.

 

Well they do have Senderos now.....

Vlaar is ok but I would prefer Dijk and Caulker and Kongolo. I would really want us to get De Vrij but can't see it.

 

If WC performances are a sound basis for transfer policy, we should buy Vlaar and then immediately sell him to PSG for £200m. He was clearly four times better than Luiz.
