I really don't think SB is the sort to buy off the back of a World Cup. I'd be very surprised to see a Nigerian, Mexican, Costa Rican (etc) CB rock up at the KC for talks.
Why not Figgy as part of a back 3? He played well as a CB in the WC, he wouldn't get caught out as much in that position as he wouldn't be as far up the pitch
To those people who where discussing the shortfalls of our youngsters, loaning them out is not necessarily the best idea. Southampton refuse to send there players out on loan and i would say they have been one of the best at developing youngsters over the past ten years. I wouldn't say we shouldn't loan them out, but clearly its not the be all and end all.
Stevie May scored for St Johnstone in a friendly tonight. He was a rumour that died the death pretty quickly.
A policy that works is the right policy. Our policy hasnt worked. We need a new one. The head of the youth team -youth development for the last 15? years hasnt produced a single player has he?
It's all well and good buying new glasses, you still have to wear them. Figgy had a decent WC, especially as Honduras were constantly under attack.
He's apparently been offered a new deal and he's probably going to sign it. We have probably moved on, hence the silence on that one
I suppose, in that case, the usual form is that he’ll end up signing for Celtic within a year or two, score a shed load of goals each season for a good few seasons for them, until transferring to a prominent English Championship club whereupon he’ll be unmasked as actually being utterly ****.
Morgan Amalfitano rumor again from the Mirror. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/hull-qpr-face-transfer-battle-3836260?
Not saying Fig should in a back three because he shouldn't but he had a good world cup and played the best football I have ever seen him play.
Agreed. Figgy had an outstanding World Cup and at times was the only defender keeping Honduras in the game. I'm not a huge fan of his but he looked far stronger and more decisive in a central role than out wide on the left where his lack of pace and poor judgement left him exposed. Might be worth keeping him and using him as a backup CH.
It appears that he is similar to Macca, he never looked comfortable at right back, and looks much more assured as centre back, Figgy appears to be the same.
