I posted up Laudrup's CV. It is unquestionably a successful one. Stop repeating lies.
All we hear is praise from you for Monk when you have just admitted yourself that he hasn't done anything yet. He's just started.

Praise given without justification indicates an agenda.

I am very upbeat regarding this comming season, and I think Garry Monk is doing a good job in the transfer market, he is shipping out last season's mediocrity and targeting quality that we need to continue our journey, the only issue he will face, will come if there are too many changes, a top 10 finish will be this season's target by Huw Jenkins and the board, and clearly Monk is getting the support he needs from Huw.

Jenkins has to support Monk every which way he can. He has to try and ensure that we don't get relegated otherwise, in the light of last season's turmoil, he will look a right idiot if we are.

Happens I don't think we will be because the core players remain and Jenkins is bruising his wallet to support Monk in bringing in some decent players. If we were good enough to stay up last season with the congested fixture list that induced fatigue and prevented proper training together with all the early/mid season injuries, I have no doubt that the players we have should be good enough to keep us up.

And as everyone on 606 knows, you have been spouting "crap" for many years.

Laudrup has achieved more in his career, both as a player, and manager, than Monk can ever dream.
Your continued attempts to airbrush Laudrup out of the history of Swansea City F.C. is so lamentable,it is positively embarrassing.
Your sense of reality,if you ever had any,has been washed down your plughole. Foolish person.

DragonPhil: "Monk is shipping out last season's mediocrity "

Hmmm... not so sure. There are a few that most would agree should be history and Monk has definitely done that but it now looks like we'll be losing Pozuelo (a promising young player), Pablo (who had a decent season when fit and played very well towards the end of the season) and Michu (on his way back but we know what he can do).

Mediocrity? Some, but definitely not all.

Yes agree with you dragon after the near miss we had with relegation, Thank god huw put his trust in monk who saved our season and managed a respectable 12th place. We had a lucky escape there.......Unfortunately monk must get rid of mediocrity so we can repair the mess laudrup put us in on the field and off the field and he is doing a superb job and im sure like the bookies we will have a good season..<ok>

"near miss?". What near miss, the team finished 12th..Thanks to the 24 points that were amassed under Laudrup.

So,12th is "respectable" under Monk, yet you dismiss Laudrup ,who took the team to a top 10 position.

That was some "mess" that nasty Michael Laudrup got the team into. Top ten finish,Cup win and a long run in Europe. How DARE he be so successful.

Well said Dai, don't let the laudrup's little luvvies bully you. Their unrequited love affair with the fade, is pointless as well as pathetic. It would even make Ricky Gervaise cringe. Personally, I say more though, its hysterically entertaining..........
............so, more <applause> more you luvvies <applause> more, more, more <applause>

Anyhoo back on track - Top 10 fantastic, 11-15 same'ol same'ol, 15-17 squeaky bum time, relegation - thanks for the memories and byr bye to most of the plastics on here, every cloud etc.

For me, as long as the squad sticks together and plays as a team, now the frilly pozuello, the Canas the clueless, and if 'Pablo the laime' have left to go suck Michu's *ick, (none will be missed), without these perras, we have more than enough quality to survive and arrive comfortably in midtable.

I'm a fan of Pozuelo, and he is indead a promising young player, pleasant lad too who my youngest boy met in Game in Swansea, and had a photo with, but we cannot have animosity in the camp, and if Poz has got involved then he has only himself to blame, as for Hernandez, he is injury prone and I'm not that bothered if he goes, he has never really settled here, and wants to be home with his familly, so wish him all the best, Michu is a lost cause, and Cannas average, and what you have to remember is all these players have issues, yet look in contrast with Amat, who keeps his head down and gets on with things very proffessionally..................<ok>

Two points from relegation zone and 6 losses in the previous 8 matches coupled with some gutless performances suggests we were in a mess by the time he left.

Anyway back on thread, I think we can finish anywhere from 9-12th, depending on who leaves and replacements coming in.

Not sure really. When the board sacked Laudrup and took on Garry I think they devolved a lot of the managerial role to themselves. Other than coaching the first team I doubt Monk has much say in anything. BTW I'm not saying this is a bad thing, just a change of direction.
