My German friend less complimentary about Tah than those on here (obligatory misery post!)

 

Hamburg in general are having a pretty awful time, aren't they? I know nothing about Tah but their team isn't meant to be particularly good, VDV aside.

 

I don't know anything about him, other than he's playing a lot at such a young age, but then Hamburg are ****e.

 

Hamburg have a very average side and had a shocking season. Their only bright spark from last season has been sold to Bayer Leverkusen - Hakan Çalhanoğlu.

 

All I've seen from Hamburg from the past season is the highlights of their home defeat to Mainz when I was checking out Tuchel's tactics (#praisetuchel). They were ripped open by Okazaki and Muller. Not a good sign.

 

The guy is only 18. Would love to seem him blossom and improve at Saints - he's thought of as a future german international, which can't be a bad thing!

Would be worried if he was expected to come straight in and make our team watertight but as a defensive option, providing competition to Fonte before one day taking his place, he'd be perfect.

 

They got ripped apart by Eintracht Braunschweig!

 

I watched a lot of the BT Sport Bundesliga highlight shows (#praiseBTsport) and they got ripped apart quite a lot. Can't blame one player for it and I didn't pay enough attention to highlights to judge Tah at all, so he may be very good and he is very young, but yeah.

 

Yeah, it's hard to judge a young CB on that. Seems like a problem with the whole team bar VDV and Calhanoglu. Wouldn't have a problem with signing the guy if we sign a proven, really good CB as well.

 

Van der Vaart's lost a lot of what he had. He's injured most of the time (nothing new there) but he was so poor last season when he played. Looks a shadow of his former self. And yet he was going to be in the Holland squad before he got injured.

 

I kind of know a Hamburg fan, if it starts looking more likely I'll ask him for his thoughts. I won't right now because I don't know him very well and it'd be pretty awkward.

 

Ok then. Perhaps if something should happen in the meantime to bring you 2 closer together then an opportunity may present itself whereby you can ask for his opinion without awkwardness being an issue.

 

How's Felix Kroos been? Toni may not be a realistic option but maybe his brother could be!

 

1 goal in 27 appearances since 2010 for Werder Bremen. No thank you.

 

He's more of a defensive midfielder so I wouldn't focus too much on goals.

His Whoscored rating doesn't look very good anyway, so maybe not. Aaron Hunt looks impressive yet again though.
