Cellino will not spend £2m plus on a striker, he only said we NEED a striker Eire, but everyone knows that ... I will be amazed if he splashes the cash on a quality forward as it will go completely against the culture he is creating of everyone on lower wages but hungry for success ... can't see Cellino adding a big time signing into the dressing room now, and can't see Hockaday wanting one either ... as Cellino said, he felt disrespected by Ross and he won't risk another big time Charlie thrown into the mix ... Cellino has never made big signings, its easier for him to have players he can control and hopefully SELL for big money Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Billy I said exactly the same thing much earlier, I was just correcting you as he says he now wants a striker. The guy mentioned has never made it in Seri A but managed to win the golden boot almost every year getting his team promoted to that top league. I expect him to score for fun in this league and he's no kid as he's 31 and always scored goals until players like Lucca Toni replace him in the top league.
According to Calcio News 24, Leeds United face very stiff competition to land highly-rated Italian defender Giuseppe Belluscias Sampdoria - last season's 14th placed Serie A side - join the race for his signature. Three days ago, Sky Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio said the deal between Leeds United and the player had hit a temporary snag due to the 24-year-old's current injury and economic requests. However, Leeds were said to be keen on negotiating further with the player. Nevertheless, it seems the 'temporary snag' in the discussions may have opened the door up to the 1991 Serie A champions Sampdoria.
1991 ? Pah ! Just tell him we've been champions more recently than Sampdoria and it'll be a no-brainer.
As Ive said previously, I dont intend getting my knickers in a twist over who's linked or not. When transfer window closes end of August, well be in a position to assess who Cellino has or hasn't bought.Who knows, there may be quality players to be had from outside England even
Exactly.Who knows, we might finish in the top half this season and break even as well. Wont be enough for some I know. I think all our recent success has gone to some peoples heads
Really chuffed we got battered so many times last season, because this time nobody laughs when I say 'It's like watching Brazil'
Good old Sniffer eh and the image of Mick Jones climbing the steps with shoulder wrapped up. Dont make em like that anymore
good evening from a cold Western Australia (I believe this is an appropriate way to start a post around here) I know i spend most of my time lurking on the Leeds board so i hope my comments are welcome I think Cellino has done a real turn getting that sort of cash for mccormack. Can anyone remember how much uncle ken and then GFH were trying to flog him for? the english transfer system is ****ed and there is no point at all looking to shop in it. I have never heard of the players we are bringing in (or are reported to be bringing in) but as long as they put in a shift they will do for me. i am optimistic for this season, though i think promotion is too far out of our reach but i think we could challenge for the play offs and then next season have a tilt at getting back up. I even have an open mind about davey hockaday
Adam Pope @APOPEY Follow #lufc McCormack feels he has been "hung out to dry" & I believe he won't be packing any punches when he tells his story.
Well I think if we get it right with our signings there is no reason we can't do a Burnley .I have written to MC today and will let you know the outcome I hope he can read my English hand writing! I have recommended Chris Burke and Guedetti
Keep us posted Elland because as he's no Longer a Leeds player Ive unfollower him. Have no intentions of listening to how he fell out of love with Leeds and presumably next season how he love Leeds. Should be interesting when he runs to the fifty Fulham fans at away games to celebrate
