I don't think I saw a single through ball last season of the type that allows Remy to deliver his real value. Not saying that I don't want him back - just that there's a lot that needs to change in HR's head if we're to make best use of such an option.
I would sooner bet on Wigan, or at a push Derby but they will certainly be above Leeds in the betting.
Derby have lost the loan players, I think its the playoffs at best for them unless they can get similar quality loans in again.
About 4 million I think which shows what a massive overspend that is. Ok he was the top scorer in the league, but 11 million is just plain stupid. As others have pointed out Remy cost us 8 million which looks amazing compared to that.
Perhaps Uncle Tony upgraded to FIFA 14 and got Remy hooked (line & sinker)? Loic Remy Says Playing FIFA 12 With Tony Fernandes Convinced Him to Join QPR, Not Newcastle. French striker Loic Remy was convinced he should join Queens Park Rangers instead of Newcastle United because QPR owner Tony Fernandes took time to play a FIFA 12 game against him at the end of four hours of negotiations. âIt showed to me what a good person Tony is. He showed his human side to me as an owner of the club,â said Remy, quoted in The Telegraph. So it wasnât the opportunity to double his wages at QPR that did the trick, eh Loic? Meanwhile, at St. Jamesâs Park, Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew was last seen honing his FIFA 12 skills. http://worldsoccertalk.com/2013/01/...-him-to-join-qpr-not-newcastle-the-nightly-ep
The rumour at the club is that we have paid £6m with a whole host of add ons that could bring it up to £11m. To pay the full sum, I think we need to get promoted, win cups and get into the Champions League, and McCormack needs to have made X amount of appearances as well. If he gets us promoted, then I will be quite happy to see the figure go up from £6m, but I very much doubt we will ever be paying the full £11m.
Yes, Derby would have to be specials to lead the way. The only thing Leeds ............ ( with the owner they have ) will be to implode. Fulham would have to be on a hiding to nowhere, surely..................... they might get a gold record or something for having a Michael Jackson statue.
The more I see the title on this thread, the less I believe it. Why would Remy stay, other than for £, an attitude which most on here claim to despise? Are there really no CL teams in Europe willing to splash out on him? Seems extremely unlikely that we'll see him come September.
Probably fair to say that it all depends on what uncle Tonz wants to throw in as add-ons ................. I'm sure he'll work his charm one way or another. He wouldn't be so silly to put an instagram as he did and not make it happen. Harry carrying on I can understand but not Tonz .............. you don't get to his corporate position in life by being plain dumb.
I have a huge amount of respect for TF and hope you are right. But it doesn't change the basic reasons that Remy would stay - the money and/or lack of interest from elsewhere. Personally the money isn't an issue for me, being cash oriented isn't rare and doesn't negatively affect his performance. It's the fury of others on here about player wages that gets parked for particular players that amuses me. I would like to hear Remy saying, on the Offish, "I am fully committed to QPR for as long as they want me, no matter who comes in for me during the transfer window'.
Everything is subject to change, and if someone comes in with a stonking offer Tony may well not say no. But I would agree with Aussie that Tony is no way stupid enough to put out such a message unless, as things stand, he is extremely confident that REMY IS A RANGER!!
i said all along i think he is Arsenal bound and expect him to be playing for Arsenal before the season starts
That's what I thought too but TF has backed himself into a corner now. He can't sell, certainly not for 8-10m that's been quoted. He needs to get double that or he's going to look an idiot.
