They didn't need to. That said, what do you want to criticise about the performance? Solid at the back and ruthless going forward.

We were #5 in the world- and qualified for the European Championships undefeated when Fabio was in charge... two years with Woy... a ten place (minimum) drop in the rankings- and our worst ever World Cup followed by a very poor European Championship.

Yes, we've had some good players go over the hill in those two years... but we've also had some exciting young talent emerge.

There is no reason any manager should do so much worse than his predecessor unless either the predecessor was a genius or that the current manager is a total dolt. Personally, I'm leaning towards Woy being a dolt... although I did like Fabs.

One way or another- we're moving backwards and getting worse... Need to cut Roy out of England immediately.

De Jong to kung-fu kick Messi in the first five minutes?

No idea who I really want to win this game.

Probably Argentina, just because of Mascherano, Messi and the Dutch's association with United.

Argentina. A Netherlands win will mean more rimming of LVG by bbc Salford

I would like Argentina to do well only because of Messi and Masch. However, Argies are batards, and I have a feeling that the Tango chaps will pip them. LVG will then be worshiped by BBC Salford until they get battered by the Jerries on sunday.

Kuyt vs Messi should be an interesting comparison. Can't see Messi competing well compared to good old Fluffy!

The only positive of the Dutch winning this game would be a Holland-Germany final and Argentina-Brazil games to look forward to. 2 of the biggest rivalries in international football.

    You watching the game?

Notice Holland have the Dutch flag and the Argie flag on their shirt like the Wales one <ok>

Think it was you that mentioned it a few days ago.

Mascherano (who looks weird with no hair) is the latest player to be allowed to continue against medical advice after losing consciousness
