if we thought he was good enough in Jan cannot see why we're not intersted now at a much cheaper price particularly as we could do with not overspending considerig the financial results of the last few years
Maybe we didn't think we'd be in the CL and he could be a player that would do well at that next level but as we're in CL we've identified targets in hi position (Shaqiri, Markovic, Sanchez) who are better and we now have more chance of signing as we're in the CL. It's like cubs in the Championship. The draw up 2 transfer lists... one if they get promoted and one if they stay in the Championship.
Everton have given Barry a 3 year deal He will be 34 next February. Wonder what the wage is? Good move or a bit long? In any event it's better than being mugged off by another club after giving the old fella a escape route
Heard that Everton had to pay City £2.5m for him even though he was out of contract as part of the loan agreement last year if they wanted to sign him on a permanent basis now.
of course but it's not like he is a world star yet we're talking yet another 20 - 25m but someone we rated 6 months ago with same scouts could possibly be got gor 10m . CL does not bring in that much money unless you qualify year after year and the danger is we will spend too much and come 5th leading to another huge loss
That is true we discussed that bit with tobes in May I think. Bad deal done there IMO but that was the loan originally not today's actions
I don't think it's about the money, it's more about the quality. I'd expect if we get £75m for Suarez we won't be going and spending another £75m on top of what we've already got in. We'll prob spend about half of that Suarez money so in effect only have a net spend of around £10m-£15m. That way we wouldn't have overspent in case that does happen.
Lfc could spend the entire amount on 2/3 players or punt on 4/6 the market is so crazy All I ask is we hold the strategy, buy young but increasing values and buy flexibility and technical types If can does anything for example I expect a profit. Coutinho will be a profit, sturridge will be too. There hope ilori will succeed so this is why borini can break even but why aspas is a complete head scratcher Hopefully we've a big enough squad shortly that filling a gap cheap is no longer seen as required
Read West Ham were told Kono will cost them more than £12m. Also rumours about Higuin to Liverpool doing the rounds, as apparently odds were slashed after a number of bets were placed. Seems a strange one, hasn't been at Napoli long, and didn't blow anyone away last year.
Higuain's name is being brandished around again, wouldn't be a bad attempt to replace Suarez, a goal every 2 games for Napoli last season
donkey in general play. Its unbelievable how streaky he is for goals. can hit them and get in box for headers etc but round the pitch he's the most limited player. As you can tell i don't like him.
not first pick there though.. not technically strong enough for gaurdiola.... with lewandowski, ribery and robben he is a sub... podolski got sick of that after a while. I still don't like him. he's honest and has a streaky goal record but f me he's an other dirk kuyt.... which is yes a bait to get a response.
