Wow. Little bit of a concern our team will be full of Brazilians and Spanish next term!!

Hopefully they come back with a point to prove.

50m for Luiz best business we've ever done?? Moments of brilliance ruined by constant errors, reckless challenges etc. Luckily he'll have Silva next to him at PSG. Why didn't PSG just bid 50m for Hummells!?!? Twice the defender.

Agreed. Has his moments but nowhere near as consistently effective as Muller or Kroos.

I thought he was better last night than the previous games, aside from the rubbish miss at the end

He wasn't bad but certainly doesn't stand out in this side. I'm biased but Schurrle looks more effective and direct (and a better finisher) whenever I've seen him this tournament.

Schurrle works well coming from deeper/wider positions IMO, a bit like Frank. Schurrle should get more game time this season IMO. He's certainly got goals in him.

Oscar is a big worry. Poor end to the season, poor world cup (though probably only behind Neymar and Silva as best Brazilian performer this tournament) and now this hammer blow at the end. As you say Jose has a huge task lifting him back to his best level.

Our best player at the World Cup, aside from Schurrle was Atsu for Ghana. Looked really good on the wing, so quick. Think he's joining pre season so maybe Jose wants a better look at him.

Agree completely, I saw 2 games when on holiday in Italy and he was terrific in both. Quick, clever, great composure for a kid. He looked the finished article and not at all out of place in the world cup. Pleeeeeas dont send him out on loan, hes ready now.

Looked great but foolish to judge him on two games in the World Cup, which is below the standard as the Prem and way below CL.

Germany are Bayern minus their best two attackers, Ribery and Robben, and can still destroy the World Cup favourites at home.

kenny omeruo was brilliant, mikel was solid as per, schurrle has been the pick though. worried he's becoming an impact sub though he needs to work on consistently impacting the game

I think Obi Wan Mikobi is a player who plays brilliantly when confident, when low he is hurried, doesn't look around and makes bad decisions on the ball. His form is erratic and he needs a leader next to him. Matic and JOM can dominate the midfield with their strength and range of passing. JOM though needs pushing all the time to keep his work rate constant. He is a little like Loopy Luis as he is a fairly relaxed character.

Mikel always plays better and in a more attacking role for his country. Surely Jose can see this and work on it?? Always say players respond better to encouragement than bollocking, yet look how Ashley Cole and Mata got treated. Weird one our manager, how will he deal with Costa when he starts chucking his toys around??

We have players who are more than twice as good as Mikel at going forward mate, I dread to think what Mikel would be like running with the ball in the Premier League.

Agreed drogs, going forwards isn't what we should be asking him to do. Its using the ball in a more creative, and efficient manner when he gets it deep that is his problem. Stats show that when he's in the team goals against DOES go down so he IS defending (I doubt anybody can say with a straight face he cant defend) what he needs to do is recycle the ball better when he wins it back.

The difference between him and matic is precisely that you never get the sense he doesn't know what to do with the ball. With john, maybe due to abilityor lack of confidence, he gets the ball so he can give it to somebody else (who starts an attack from there).

Exactly. Are we meant to believe all the Chelsea managers since he was singed god knows how many years ago have all missed this trick that Mikel is an amazing attacking midfielder? These same managers that watch him everyday in training?

Personally I think Mikel is a good player and has been a good servant but to pretend he is some sort of mistaken attacking genius is way off the mark. Plus he can't shoot for **** which is not ideal for an advanced attacking midfielder.
